And seriously consider picking Grand Strategist - with that plus Kurov's Aquila you'll have a hard time running out of CP.

Not sure I'd get too comfortable with that combo, what with CA2018 just around the corner and all..

Yeah. After I saw Tooth and Nail, I wasn't sure if they were going to stick with that order, or change it up, since that box is SW vs GSC, so I thought the Culties might have been bumped up. Still could, I guess, if we get a really dense run with SW in August, GSC in September, and then Orktober, or it could be as you've got it there. It seems like kind of a long time to wait for a Dex for something they just put out as a Starter Box, but looking it up, November for GSC wouldn't be out of line with the gap between the original release of the Knight Armigers in ForgeBane and the release of the actual Knight Codex.

Good points, but I think Ork players would lose their collective scheisse if GSC jumped the line. Much of Dakka is on suicide watch, even with today's announcement 😉

GSC Dex is either right before, or right after the Orks. Just so y'know.

Yeah, thanks! Conventional wisdom (based on Gamesday? reveal) is that we get Space Pups and Orks in (roughly) tandem, followed by GSC. Given the 'Orktober' ref in the video, I guess that means GSC in Nov, or maybe January? I suspect we won't see big releases in December, due to the holidays...

  4. I was gearing up to do GSC as my second 8th ed army. Was. Time to fish that box of orks out from the back of the closet. Unless another GSC announcement comes along, at which point I'll probably flip again. Do you think GW knows they have a hotline to my dopamine production and just goose it for kicks?

  5. I watched The Witch, followed by Dunkirk last night. The Witch was very good, but Dunkirk was amazing -- maybe my favorite war movie ever. Not a great before-bed double-feature, too intense; I don't remember any of my dreams, but I know I had some disturbing ones.

The hot thing people are pushing, though, are the Mini Split Heat Pumps. High Efficiency, wall mounted heads.  They are awesome.

I've been thinking of going this way. Currently have radiant electric heat and window AC units, mini split heat pump would be a vast improvement. You don't work in WA?

Elmer Fudd himself is a pun. A Fud is both a rabbit's tail(always following the rabbit), and a moron (or 'worse').

That's very interesting. I'd never heard 'fud' used beyond 'Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt' -- it'll be useful in Scrabble and Quiddler, if nothing else.

  8. I heard an anecdote that links the 'Nimrod' decent to insult to Elmer Fudd. In one episode, Bugs Bunny called Elmer Fudd a 'Nimrod' as a reference to his hunting, however it was interpreted as an insult to his intelligence... not sure if it *started* there, but I'll bet it had an impact.

If a kilt were actually a cone, it would have to come to a point. Since it's open at both ends, that's a tapered tube, not a cone. Pretty much all pant legs, skirts, dresses, etc. are tapered. Still close enough to tubes. Actually, lots of things that aren't actually cylindrical for one reason or another are referred to as "tubes", even in technical terminology.

    People are tori.
