  1. As the spells in Lore of the Wild are from an older book and don't have spell type classifications, I need some clarification on how some of the spells in this lore work.

Beastial Surge - Pretty straight forward, no questions.

Viletide - Magic Missile, no issue here.

Devolve - Does this affect units that are engaged in close combat?

Bray-Scream - Can a character in combat have this cast on them?  All it says is that they make a breathe weapon attack, so can they do it and make the usual 2d6 hits against a unit that they are in base contact with?

Traitor-Kin - This one is at least FAQ'd to say that it hits units that are in combat.  In terms of casting it on chariots, how do you decide what armor bonuses come from being a chariot?   Most chariots just say that they have a total combined save of X.  Would you just assume that the models being hit are equipped with the armor on their profile?

Mantle of Ghorok - No questions.

    Savage Domination - No questions.

  2. Alright, I sent out a PM to everybody...kinda.

Kremmet, it wont let me send you messages for whatever reason.  If there is any way that I can contact you then let me know.  Otherwise, I'm just posting the message here (not like it's a secret or anything).

    Hello, everyone!

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for coming together to form a team.  OFCC is a blast every year, so we will have to do our part to make sure it stays that way.   Looks like right now this is our team layout:

    Devo: Empire

    Nephren-Ka: Ogres

Kremmet: Daemons, Wood Elves, or Dark Elves

    Rudra34: Beastmen

No redundancy is good, it means we wont have to fight over who gets to bring which army.  Everyone be sure to get your lists in order, and keep on top of any painting/modeling that you need to get done by the time OFCC rolls around.  Personally I have a lot of work to do, so I'm keeping on top of it and getting a little done each day.  If you need help getting things done on time, just ask.

We also need to settle on a team name, so if anyone has some ideas, speak now so that we can get it figured out.  I will order us team name tags once we settle on a name, and if there is any interest we can get shirts or something.

I think that's it for now.  Thanks again to everyone for signing on, now lets get set to kick some ass!

  3. Well, good to know that it's still doable.  The rules could definitely use an amendment about taking full units, unless it's in there and I'm missing it.

Looking forward to testing the list out, I need to see if I have too many throw-away units.  Chaff is important in this game, but too much chaff can clog up your own troops and lead to mistakes.

I'm also undeacided about which lore to bring on my shaman.  Beasts is the number 1 choice right now, but I am up for testing out lore of the wild to see if it's worthwhile. Shadow and death are amazing, but the casting values are a bit high for my tastes.

  4. The dragon is going to wreck some faces, but its big gamble having an undead general on his own like that.  I'd say the list is pretty balanced, though I can see where it might get iffy for lists that have no way of dealing with that kind of a threat.  But in a competition where it's known that people can, and are encouraged to, take big monsters, I think most armies should have tools available to fight back.

  5. Well, chaos wizards are allowed to take armor as the have chaos armor either stock or as an option.  Because of that they are allowed to use magical armor.   I'd say that the same applies here: Caster has the option to bring some kind of armor, therefor they are not barred from bringing magical armor.

It's how people have been playing it since a month or so after the book came out.  To change it now just because GW are being dicks about getting the FAQ back up doesn't seem necessary.
