  1. Space Marine was fun. They made the levels too big, so you spent a lot of time walking and not killing nobs with a chain sword. Good plot and controls though. Id pay to play this, especially if it is planet side + 2 years of extra dev. Id be interested if they do anything squad based too, like an instance I can run with 5-10 friends.

  2. I needed some orcs for a Pathfinder game tomorrow, so I thought I could do it on the cheap. The bones orcs were 2.75 a piece, but I needed 10 so it was going to be 27.50, however a box of GW fantasy boys were 28.99. So for 1.50 more I got highly detailed plastic models, instead of  the blurred detail on the bones.

  3. Reasons for the Wraithknight?  Eat points?

I'd suggest a Wraithlord with two Brightlances really.  Much cheaper.

Mostly because I have a nicely painted one and I want to show it off :P. I have a brightlance lord too, but I bought him in a lot of broken pieces, and i've fixed him with walker bits, so he is ugly as sin, and his pose is really derpy. I cant seem to get the glue to release to repose him, despite soaking in purple clean.

Well you need something to go into those Wave Serpents.  Dire Avengers and Fire Dragons tend to be popular choices.  Guardians are actually surprisingly terrifying in 12's, because of their rending.  It's really effective and cheaper than say Dire Avengers but becomes bolter Fodder which is why Dire Avengers tend to be more popular.

Dark Eldar can probably handle the anti-tank duties more efficiently than Eldar do.  Eldar have powerful anti-tank means but requires you to put a pretty goodly sum of points at risk to do it a lot of the time.  I have found the Venom with Blasterborn to be highly successful at their jobs.  The venom itself is a terror, and hard to target in round 1 because of Night Shields.  it can deliver its payload of pain pretty convincingly.  Land Raiders happen and its nice to have an answer.  Venoms are assault vehicles so when shooting dont work, grenade the thing.

As troops go for the Dark Eldar my choice to date has been Wracks.  The Haemonculi is cheap also which helps when doing the allies thing.  The Liquefier Gun on Wracks, and the HexRifles which all my Wracks have, are really good weapons, though better in larger numbers.

So Haemonculus Ancient, Blasterborn in venom (add cannons) and a Wrack unit in Venom (add Cannons because yeah..just do it) is a pretty good addition.

I was planning on running the guards in the serpents with a farseer and a warlock. I like the idea of blaster born. I like the idea of taking wracks in a venom, and putting the Haemonculus in a raider with a hex rifle too.

    So for dark eldar:

    Wracks w/venom(w cannon) + nightshield + liquifier

Blaster born w/venom(w cannon) & haywire + nightshield

    Warriors w/raider +nightshield + flicker + trophies + splinter racks

    Ravager + nightshield + tropies

    Haemonculus w/hex

Puts me at 1737, I like this, not too spammy either. I wouldnt feel like a jerk running this.

  4. I still have more stuff to nergle-ize, I've been working on it for over a year now. Kinda want to try out something else. I like the idea eldar\dark eldar skimmers, I have an idea or what I want to do, but I am kinda stuck with anti-air. Id love to just hope all the re-rolls to hit would be able to take care of that for me.

  5. I am painting up my Eldar now that my Nurgle list is done. I want to include Dark Eldar, but I dont know much about them, or what works well in practice. I am thinking raiders with trophies for the warlocks, for scoring units and some lances, but I am not too sure.  I also have a squad of swooping hawks, a squad of fire dragons, and two wraithlords. I am wanting to do a Ulthwe list so I am avoiding aspects, wraiths, and going psyker heavy. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Here is my list so far @ 1000

    Farseer w/ witnessing & spear

    Farseer

    2 x Warlocks

2 x Wave serpents w/ scatter lasers, shuri-cannon, holo fields

    20 Guardians

    Wraithknight with wraith cannons

  6. I got to place them 2/3 times. And it comes down to putting the in the middle of no where and getting hit again on turn 4 or putting them next do something that can fight them. I put them next to my plague bearers and plague marines which did like 4 wounds to them, and locked them in combat. I thought it would be better than getting hit again.

  7. It was this list:

Hive Tyrant: Twin-Linked Devourer with Brainleech worms x2, Hive Commander, Wings

Hive Tyrant: Twin-Linked Devouer with Brainleech worms x2, Wings

    Tervigon: Regeneration, The Norn Crown

    Hormaguant Brood: x3 10-man

Termagant Brood: 30-man with x25 Devourers

    Zoanthrope Brood: 1 x 2

    Venomthrope Brood: 1 x 1

    Mawloc: x 3

    Aegis Line with Comm Relay

    = 1750 pts

I just had pretty much the standard Nurgle Biker lord list (Bikes,2 units of plague marines, oblits, heldrake) w\chaos daemons (BioPrince w/insta-death sword and Soul Grinder).

  8. That was probably my roughest fight at Tshft, every other round was tied into turn 5, getting lots of big kills with the prince and lord, nothing wiped me out like 'nids did. It plays different than old nids, but it does play. I couldn't hel-turkey anything either, too many little bugs to put my base down.

  9. My Nurgle Chaos got torn up by the new nids. Yes my list is more fluff than comp, but the Mawlocs decimated by back line. Ageis line + venomthropes is great, I normally focus on his Tervigons to kill off all the little bugs, but with a 2+ cover I couldnt do anything to it. I couldnt get my prince close to insta-death, I couldnt land because of all the little bugs everywhere. The poison weapons did well, but that was about my only saving grace. I could see Tau doing well due to the ignore cover, but the mawlocs were mighty impressive, and if they started coming up in their fire base, I can see their troops breaking.

  10. I was comparing a flyrant w/swrds and lash to a blood thirster which both cost 250 points. Both are FMC with insta-death weapons. Yes the flyrant is lvl 2 psyker, but one of those is just to get synapse which you have to have, so pretty much lvl 1. I love 'nids, but who ever wrote the costs for this book was drunk for the first 3/4 of the units, the Heavy section is actually pretty damn good. Once they get a supplement where you can take any of the 'fexes outside of FoC, sounds pretty good.

  11. Um, what? Seekers cost twice what Gargoyles do, and Daemonettes are more than twice the price of Termagants.

Seekers cost 2x Gargs but have 3x attacks with rending and higher init and 2 higher WS and are faster. Gargs should have another attack or something, its crap. As for t6 spam I run blobs of Nurgle bikes/spawn, trust me, t6 3+ doesnt mean much to Eldar/Tau/Inquisition. I just dont see nid zilla doing a lot. I do kind of like the idea of gaunt MSU. 6 15 gaunt squads. Make them waste shots to over kill those little squads. Without Iron arm and enfeeble, its going to be very hard.

Also yeah, shoulda used horms, all the lists i've been making are terms.

  12. Lash Flyrant is pretty sweet, just hope you dont come up against a bloodthrister. Same amount of points, swings before the flyrant, 6 attacks, 3.6 hit, .57 chance of insta-death vs .27 chance with the Tyrant, and that is the flyrant getting the charge. I just dont see anything in the 'nid book that daemons don't do better. Maybe shooting, but daemons can take soul grinders, ally in oblits, forge fiends, havocs, heldrakes, and prescience them. Crap Daemons can ally in a Lemon Russ squad and a Vendetta squad. Daemonettes > Termagants, Seekers > Gargoyles, Bloodthrister > flyrant, all for the same point costs, and no synapse. Heavy support is the only bit that leaves daemons, but Princes and Soul Grinders are pretty dang good. This is pretty disappointing.
