now that the holidays and finals are over i can play again, id be down for a 40k game any time Tuesday.

Hey sorry for the late reply, between everything with school and holidays I've been pretty absent from gaming and the forums.  As far as the Apoc goes, id love to play, and the 24th works for me.  I would like to play my Tyranids, still need to see how many points i can field, my guess would be about 4500-5k?

 

I am interested in gaming with that club.  Sure, I want new people to come along and join and play (even other Brads, though we will work on that), and I want some say as to whether they are handed the invitation to be there (and might have to undergo some sort of name-replacement ceremony as part of it). 

I completely agree, did you have a good name in mind you wanted to change yours to?

 

 

A third potential solution:  Have occasional (once a quarter?) open house nights. Everyone brings games and armies, and tables are going of a lot of stuff. Advertise the hell out of them. Warhamsters can have demo tables set up, or bring armies for what you want to play. Hamsterizer (or whoever) circulates, mingles, and sets new folks up with games with old salts. Advertise to the gaming clubs on campus.

I really like this idea. Find a way to let people know (probably with Dark Towers help) that a ton of the coolest people in Bham are all in one room every Tuesday playing games and shootin the [big bad swear word].

I think that the reason that people dont get games in unless they have scheduled one is because everyone schedules them in advance. I know I have come in a couple of times without games scheduled and just sat around because there wasnt anyone left to play. If more people walk in for pick up games then I know that this problem will dwindle down a lot. 

I totally agree, up until now I've felt like unless I get a confirmed opponent on the forums, I'm probably not playing that week.  I live very close so pick up games are easy for me so the next few weeks ill just have a few different lists ready and head down at 4:30-5ish without an agenda.

I'm always down for unconventional ways of playing. 2v1 or 2v2 would be tons of fun, and probably not that hard to work out.

Anyone else in for a game of 40k? Are 2v1 2k vs 1k each points a thing, or would that be too ridiculous to sort out? Just a thought, I don't want to impose myself on a game. I'll be down either way to try and get a pick up game, or maybe see if I can sit in on some Fantasy.

 

Some of those warriors of chaos models are calling to me, and it looks like a pretty fun system.

Id be down for a 2v1 game, im sure we can figure how to get one to work.  Ill just bring 2k points and a list for both 1k and 2k and we can just figure out who wants to be on which side.  Unforgiven you down for that?  And 5 works for me, that k with you scipiano?

Sorry correction, just found out I have WAY more school stuff to work on today than I though so i'm out this week, guess we'll have to put off the 2v1.
