  1. So I think I've decided on tau, the more I see then the more I like them. What do you guys think about this starting army just to get me going:

    HQ-

    Still no idea

    Troops-

    Bunch of fire warriors

    Fast-

    Couple squads of pathfinders

    Elite-

    1-2 riptides

    1-2 crisis squads

    Heavy-

    2 hammerheads

Not looking for super competative but more just fun and versitle.

  2. Unfortunately on Tuesday night the hive held a small funeral for their 3 carnifex brothers who all three got chopped in half by a single swing of the sword of a savage slow obese daemon. Now the whole hive is looking for blood to avenge their fallen. If anyone would like to put their army in front of some tyranids looking for some revenge just let me know.

  3. That's awesome guys, thank you so much for the insight. I think I have enough nids to proxy a while army and try each out. Also not sure if people know about it but I found this app called "Battle scribe" it's amazing. Can upload all of the codexes from their site for free and makes making army lists insanely easy.

  4. Hey guys,

As some of you know I have a Tyranid army, and now I want to start a second.  I would like to make an army that is a polar opposite of nids so i've narrowed it down to Eldar or Tau, Mainly because I like the look of them the best.  Anyone have any experience playing with or against either? if so which would you suggest, and what units would you suggest taking to leaving out?  Any insight would help a ton, don't have tons of money to spend so want to avoid the buy everything and see what unit you like strategy, as i did with my nids.

  5. I've been seeing a lot about these certain formations such as "living artillery" or "endless swarm" for tyranids with bonus special rules if you meet all the requirements but I cannot find where the full specifics are or a list of all the possible formations. Anyone know a site? Thank you.

  6. I like Hive Guard. They have their purposes. They are no longer a must have, but they aren't a bad choice. With the new damage table you are just working on removing hull points, which is kind of annoying that our dedicated anti tank gun can't explode a closed topped vehicle. I plan on trying them out again now that I can fill the role of zoanthropes and venomthropes with the new forgeworld malanthrope.

i'm confused by forgeworld...  are they a third party site that just makes new 40k units and everyone just uses them? or are you actually contracted by games workshop? are the units and rules for their units such as the malanthrope legit to use in tourniment play?

  7. I would doubt those numbers, yes they have taken a hit in sales in the first quarter but that trend is not going to be linear.  I read an article, cant find it right now but i think it was the CFO saying that financially they did take a hit but they are doing just fine.  Looking at the financial report North America is the only place they closed more stores than they opened and they are just starting to break into Asia which has an enormous demographic for this kind of stuff.  Also Ironically UK seems to be the only place they had a significant change which may be a large factor in the stock price and speculation, I'm no expert but compared to many other reports I've seen GW seems to be down a bit but totally fine.

  8. Most of the focus is on ICs, MCUs, and micro processors, but I want to focus on sustainable energies when I graduate. Also how do you feel about Hive Guard?  On paper they seem pretty great with the impaler cannon, and descent point cost, however it seems like I never see people use them.
