  1. This is the main thread for the campaign. BACKGROUND: If you missed the D-Day beach battles in the first round, see this thread in the Flames of War Forum: "FoW and D-Day, June 6th" http://www.ordofanaticus.com/index.php?/topic/24837-fow-and-d-day-june-6th/ DOCUMENTS (free DL): http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4495 You don't have to read the campign PDF to play. WHAT IS FLAMES OF WAR? Here is a quick set of ramp up docs: "Open Fire Downloadable Resources" at http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=3547 ...and yes, they are FREE! * FORCES: FoW Intelligence handbooks: Axis="Atlantik Wall" Allies="Overlord" If you don't have these books, we will have the forces list and units stats printed up. If you want to play, but don't have an army, we can lend you one. RULES: Flames of War, 3rd ed. If you don't know the rules, we can coach. If you want your own copy of the rules, the PB is only $10. * SCHEDULED EVENTS: Thursday evenings at GG (Guardian Games), Portland, OR, 6:00-10:00 (1800-2200 hrs). barca will arrive between 6:00 and 6:15, depending on traffic and/or trains. NEXT BATTLE(S): Thursday, 11 June, at GG, 1815-2200 hrs. Orders and Forces TBD by late TUE, June 09, and posted on this thread. QUESTIONS: Post here. Contacts: Axis Cdr=lazarus, Allied Cdr=barca * disclaimer - barca and lazaraus do NOT have any financial ties to Battlefront nor GF9.
  2. Oh, and lazarus you probably intercepted these the messages to the allied troops 1) "I have full confidence in your courage and devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!" Dwight D Eisenhower 2) Give'm hell men, and keeping kicking their butts all the way to Berlin! - barca
  3. Not a cast of thousands, but great support: Thanks to SteveM for the Omaha beach board, LCVPs, lots of terrain, obstacles and bunkers. Jesse Lowe contributed the Sword beach board. Zeke contributed his American Armored forces and Paratroopers. lazarus brought fortifications, obstacles, GE Festungs Kp and US boat company. Boss "brewed up" several Shermans on Omaha. Panzerkyle brought GE armor and infantry. John contributed his Allied paratropers and German Infantry. The folks at GG were generous with their table space. We had all the space we needed. Great looking stuff on the boards. I have pics. Will find a free hosting site, upload them and post a link. Invitations are still open for Allied and Axis commanders for the next round in our Firestorm: Overloard campaign.
  4. I don't have any western front forces, but I am open to borrowing either allies or axis. I do have 3 LCVP's to contribute. Panzerkyle, we can help with the rules. This session is a friendly game, not a tournament.
  5. Countdown to D-Day Even if you are not going to play, show up to have a look, and tell your buddies to stop by. It's just a short hop from the Rose Festival activies, so make a small detour.
  6. REMINDER: plan ahead, check your route, schedule your travel time around the Rose Festival events. See http://www.rosefestival.org/event-calendar
  7. 1. Saturday's game would be a great oppportunity to sell your models. Noob's might be especially interested in picking up a complete army, or a starter set. Some old hands might add an army, or fill out their missing models. 2. If that does not fit your schedule, then either a. Drop by GG Thurdays nights to show what you've got. Our FoW gourp meets casually there between 6 and 8:30 PM. or b. List what you'v got on this forum, and asking price.
  8. More attempts at promo: Anyone know how to conact these guys, and inform them of the event...invite them to join in? <yeah, not as sexy as a tourny, but still fun..> Aeroflotte Atules Brother Glacius daleroller generalripphook xipetotec Apophis93 Bolo Centurius Souldier3 barca Skee Sloth LordGrumpus
  9. Trying to generate some interest: both spectators and participants. Sent out e-mail invitations to the contacts that I could find. Posted more messages on some of the still "active" Yahoo Groups. * * * REQUEST * * * ? Anyone want to promote this event on Facebook or Twitter? I don't have accounts there.

  22. "...chime in on what side you would like to play for this..." I would fill in anywhere needed (since there are no "real" Russian units - Ost formations don't count), but if I have to coose, this is my list of priorities: 1) Germans 2) Canadians (when in the mix) 3) British (they wish they could be Canadians) 4) Americans Armor, mech or infantry does not matter to me.
  23. 24. Ok. Thx. I will check their calendar periodically.
  25. Alyhough my 'hood is Portland (Guardian Games), I am reaching out to the FoW gamers whose turf is close to Portland, but in other stores, cities or towns. Getting to GG is not always easy or convenient for some people. For example, on 18 APR, I am going to Dice Age Games in Vancouver to play a game or two there. When there are scehduled events (standing, or ad hoc), at Mighty Fortress, I could get over there, as well.
