  1. Team: for the painting competition, please bring a sample photo or artist rendering of the period colors/ style. The store will be officiating and it is possible that the judge's historical knowledge will be novice. Thus a reference point is highly encouraged.

I am waiting to hear back from Barca on my scoring rubrics but the plan roughly is:

    Best general 30%

    Best art/history/display 30%

Best Commander (sum of above points + plus sportsmanship totals) 40%. I figured this would be more difficult to achieve and thus a better run on the prizes.

This gives the possibility to win in three areas

  2. My apology for the delay in response but I have been TDY for the past week and I am just getting back in. I have never participated in a NW Invasion. From the historical context, I figured it was just dudes from the south beating on dudes from the north in a team based tournament. I have always been a fan of simplicity and would elect to keep that flavor as time is just something I do not have a lot of these days.

Recommendation is that points total decide the winning team after three matches. Red on blue are valid points, blue on blue are not counted toward the team but the individual score as Dylan noted. Captains are appointed the day of the fight when we know who will show up. If the desire is to have a more complex organization of the game, I will need help.

Currently we have five tables reserved, but it is looking like we are going to use only four, leaving us with a kit table. I will set up the night prior at 2300ish and will pack out after we finish. At current pace, Ed and I have enough terrain to dress four nice tables. My request is that Portland guys bring a little stuff if a fifth table is required.

Please throw about concerns and I can continue to work them this week.

  3. Here is the latest.

    1. We have five tables to our disposal. The store opens at 1000 and I will plan to set up the night before @2300. Right now Ed and I can cover four tables nicely. If anyone wants to step up to cover one more, the support would be appreciated. the Portland crew has volunteered to cover one, but I want to avoid using them if at all possible as they are guests and it could delay a kick off time of 1100. If the Portland people support, we will roll with it.

    2. Prize support is strictly gift cards on behalf of the store based solely on the gate fee of $10.

    3. Five tables means only 10 players, so get your lists in ASAP.

    4. Opening at 1000; first match at 1100; 2hour 15 minute matches with a 45 minute lunch and two 15 minutes breaks.

    1100-1215 match A

    1215-1300 lunch

    1300-1515 match B

    1515-1530 break

    1530-1745 match C

1745-1815 awards, close out and packing.

  4. BTW...October 28th is coming awfully quick.  Seems wise to like...  get the word out and like...Make a facebook event for this we can all share on our resspective facebooks and....  you know what I mean.  time's a wastin'.

So we hung flyers at both OCC and Matrix, have post here and have open talks with Gabi, so I am out of steam on what else we can do to generate interest. If you want to get a poster floating on Facebook on your spheres, I can push one to you, I just need an email.

  5. The only challenge of east and west is the miles between the populations. It is a rare sight to get more than two people from eith side of the state to show up for just FOW. Now setting something up when you have a magnet like Enfilade....that can be a different story.
