VonVilkee
So finally got around to writing up a couple of datasheets to use these awesome craters! First up, lots of drop Pod craters: If at first you don't succeed... Fluff: Well obviously, some Marines tried a drop pod assault here...whether they succeeded or not, we are fighting once again over the same ground. Composition: 3-5 drop pod or round walker craters. All placed following the same rules as unit coherency. Terrain type:craters (pg109) None of the next three things apply Special rule: scattered plates Any non vehicle model touching a crater receives+1 to its armor save. No save becomes a 5+. Remember no save can be improved beyond a 2+. Fluff: drop pods offer lots of random metal plates designed to survive reentry. These plates happen to be easy to hold up against incoming fire.
VonVilkee
Vehicle bone yard Fluff: fighting over the same ground again, and again, and again... Is a time honored tradition in war; you happen to be participating in it at this moment. Composition: 2-6 vehicle craters placed following the rules for vehicle squadron coherency (pg 79) Terrain type: rubble (pg 109) Next three none apply Special rule: parts galore! Any vehicle in contact with a crater gains the "It will not die " USR. (pg 167). If the vehicle already had this rule it may add +1 to its end of turn roll. Flyers must enter hover mode to benefit from this rule.
