Battleplan-The Ritual

This is the third Battleplan from the first source book and as I have mentioned mention before is actually a pretty fun and fairly well balanced one:)

 

Battleplan-The Ritual

 

Armies-This battle will have a Ritualists and a Disruptor.If one player has a third more models than the other then they must be the Disruptor.Otherwise roll off with the winner being able to choose which one they want to play.

 

Objectives--The Ritualist must complete the Ritual before the Disruptor shatters the artifact that the Ritual is using.

Command Abilities--

RItualist-"Destroy at all costs"-Pick d3 units that are within 12" of your General,Add 1 to all hit rolls and subtract 1 from all save rolls until your next hero phase.

Defiler-"Shatter the artifact"-If your General is within 3" of the artifact(or terrain feature used to represent it) then he can roll a dice,on a 2+ the artifact is shattered and you win a major victory.

 

The Battlefield-The board is divided down the middle with each player using the 4x3 end sections.The Ritualists territory includes the Artifact that is settup in the middle of their table edge(Middle of the table short edge).This can be a small circle of stones or an average size terrain peice(6"x6" or so).

 

The Artifact-Models cannot move through or fly over the artifact.The artifact can be shattered by the Disruptors general or second in command.

 

Settup-Roll off to determine who can choose to set up first.Players alternate setting up their units no more than 6" from enemy territory.No models my be setup on the Artifact.

 

First turn-The Disrupter decides who will have the first turn.

 

Victory-Do not use the Victory conditions from the rules.Instead if the artifact is shattered then the disruptor wins a major victory.The Ritualist immediatly wins a major victory if the Disruptors general is slain and is not replaced,or if the ritual is completed(see below)

 

The Ritual-The Ritualist rolls a d6 in each of their hero phases,add 1 to this roll for each friendly Wizard or Priest that is within 12" of the Artifact/Terrain piece.Subtract 1 from the roll for each enemy Wizard or Priest that is within 36" of the Artifact/Terrain piece.Keep a running tally of these die roll results,the Ritual is completed when the total reaches or exceeds 20.

 

I enjoy this one every time I play it.If any of you get to try it out be sure and post up how it went for ya:)

 

 

Second in command-If the Disruptors general is slain then they can pick another Hero from their army to take his place.This model becomes the new general and gains the "Shatter the Artifact" command ability in addition to the Inspiring presence ability all generals gain.
