What is the tournament schedule up in WA... If I am able, and if I cna at least get some minis on trays.. I will try and make it.
I am going to try running demo games in the Vancouver/Portland Area to drive up some interest, I just don't know the best avenues to market it at this point.
http://www.ordofanaticus.com/index.php?/topic/27517-rain-city-rumble-ii/ thread on ordo for an event in seattle area on may 14th.

KoW is slowly growing. we had 10 people at the last tournament and i am anticipating at least 14 at the next. I see it has caught fire a bit down in the Portland/Vancouver area as well. Once people start playing and realize how good it is they get hooked. Its jsut getting them to take that first step thats tough.

i bet as GW abandons armies that Mantic will start producing models for those lines

ive always liked the bane thrall/knight models from warmachine.

Glad to see KoW finally picking up a head of steam down in the Portland/Vancouver area.

I wish this was happening on a weekend night. I'd drive to Vancouver for a Sunday game.

Prices really aren't any higher than their 40k equivalents. If anything, some of the kits seem cheaper than in the past.
GW's got Chaos Knights currently up in a 10-pack for $60. That's $6 per chaotic knightly horseman. The Chaos Warriors are currently $40 per 16, making them $2.50 each.
As opposed to Chaos Space Marines which are 10 for $39, making them $3.90 per model. With Chaos bikers coming in at 3 for $40, or $13.33 each, despite being older sculpts and using less plastic than the current AoS/WHFB chaos knights.
Granted, I think the CSM kits have more customization potential, not to mention better rules support (sad when chaos 40k has better rules support than anyone...). But still, I think complaining about AoS being too expensive is only meaningful in the context of GW being too expensive as a whole. As far as GW products go, AoS is cheap.
i was comparing the new AoS model prices to what fantasy prices used to be not current 40k prices.

Most stores here in Seattle area are stocking little to no AoS stuff as well. Mox Boarding House put all their fantasy and AoS stuff on clearance. Games and Gizmos stocks very little. I understand we are just a small portion of the market so it might not mean much tho. I did just think of this: If sales are the same as they were and prices have been jacked up by quite a bit doesnt that mean they are moving fewer models?

Interested. Depends on how much I can get painted in time and if there are any scheduling conflicts.
There are no painting requirements. You arent eligible for best overall is you are not fully painted but im thinking there will be a painting competition for each army's regiment of renown. Rest of the tournamnet details will be posted soon

For those that havent seen it I am running an event in Seattle area this sunday. Armies dont have to be painted and there will be people new to the game attending so dont worry if you dont have many games in. Also if you need an army my painted salamanders are available as a loaner army.

Fully painted is not required. You just wont be in the running for best overall and best painted. Still best general and best sport tho.
