How bout...
"I funded this kickstarter and all I got was this lousy planet 5"
-
Well looks like its not just gremlins you can get her from. I think the convict gunslingers are going to be a popular choice.
-
I played Neverborn (Lilith)
Thanks to my opponents for 6 great games.
Thanks to Dan and Jim and everybody else involved with the organization and execution, awesome job!
Big thanks to Dark Tower for hosting us all weekend. Great location, and shop. and the lunch tray's are about the best idea since sliced bread.
And HUGE thanks to Kevin and Stas for giving us a place to crash. (Herbert did not stow away, but Smallworld did apparently)
I'm too wore out to be sarcastic, so I'll get to that after I get some sleep or something like that.

I got ya yarb. I'm only bringing one C-Gunslinger so I'll have the extra card you can use.
-
Where are you guys at? I'm in Corvallis Oregon.
I'm in Lebanon along with a couple others like Dkieft.

I second that nerdgasm...
I was toying with the idea of getting one of the newer hand held projectors for that purpose. But running it through the TV's sound system is ingenious for ambient sounds.

How's bout a link or something to peruse.

Just picked up my ticket as well.

I'd go with a dex based warrior instead of str based. IE taking weapon finesse. Also adding in 1, 3, or 5 rogue levels for the crit hit was always a nice way to augment the lost damage bonus from lower strength.
I'd also go with Sorc over Wizard. But then I really really am biased against the stupidity of having to prepare spells. And the whole mechanics of DnD/d20 spellcasting in general. I like the freedom of being able to use the spell I need when I need it. But I digress.
Another to consider is going Sorc/Cleric That gives you some fighting skill and armour and also plugs you into some healing and the ability to turn. Though with rogue levels you could just cast cleric scrolls instead and wizard ones for that matter.

I remember seeing adds and buzz about this game but it was when it was being imported from japan and it seemed to drop off the radar. Glad to see its around I'll have to check it out now.

Looking great!

Having not played attack wing, but well versed in X-wing I'm curious a to the ships. What are the hull point/sheild rating avereges? I'm not looking for ubermath, just a rough idea compared to X-wing.
Thats one of the bigger knocks that the local group (who play alot of wings of war) throw is that an xwing or tie can be hulled in one attack. I would imagine with such "larger" scale ships that the hull/shields should be a bit higher allowing for single player-single ship games.
-
So I just learned something else about initial buy in. Some ships include upgrades that others do not. I wanted push the limit, so I had to buy an a-wing to get it for example. Not a big deal, but as you get into the game more, you may find other things like shield upgrades (falcon and slave I) and such might be useful.
Not a deal breaker, but just for those looking to fine tune lists.
I've mentioned this in several threads, as have others. The downside is you have to buy 1 of all the ships (even tie and x wings that come in the box) to get the upgrades. But the upside is that you know exactly what you're getting as opposed to many other games in this genra that are "collectible" Imagine buying 10+ A wings to get the rare push the limit. Or 5-10 falcons to get the ultra-rare falcon title card. Or how about buying X-wing blind boosters and ending up with 30 tie fighters and no x wings or vice versa.

In the past week-ish I've picked up an A wing and a Tie bomber to add to my collection. Like all people with rebel ships, I'm eagerly waiting the inexpensive headhunter.
-
I did as Mach 5. If you get the standard hard card sleeve's they will hold the cards nicely. For upgrades I went with standard soft sleeves. I had lots of soft sleeves. But the Hard sleeves you can get at Walmart or Target like 50 of em for 2-3 bucks.
Then just wait for the arsenal decks or go with print outs.

Just picked up the creature book. Too bad the equipment supplement isn't out yet.
-
Yoga mat, now that's a great idea.
-
I just picked up an A wing. I think they really help fill that niche of points at the end of the build for the rebels.
-
Looks like Derk, Christopher and Myself will be coming for sure, and Ryan was up for it when we talked about it last weekend.
See ya guys up there.
-
Its also Good to remember that certain pilot/ship upgrades only come in certain packs. IE the Tie Advanced will have 1-3 upgrades that you won't get anywhere else (clever FFG, clever)

I guess I can't come I have each beta edition and planned to cherry pick.
I just planned to bring only book models but wouldn't mind other experiencing the new stuff. Dusting off lady j and crew.
Remove the winsgive you extra tickets and wac is lost. I don't recall ever meeting a wac player at beerlifaux
The only problem with that is everybody is gonna choose archanists and then ironsides 1st beta where he has the ability "Losers wait" Losers Wait: at the beginning of any turn in which this model is in play and activated first, the controlling player wins the the game.
-
According to Justin, the rules for wave 2 models are pretty much set and the only changes that are likely to come now are changes to cost and cashe. Still I would prefer established book 1 models only. Its just faster for play which is what is needed for Beerlifaux time constraints.
At any rate I'll be using Wave1 models as I'm a slow enough player as it is. lol
-
I'll ask the gang and see if we want to make the trip up. I've been wanting to play.
Ohh are we including wave 2 beta masters/models?

Looking Good.

Donovan is off the roster because he doesn't fit with the current system and as had been said before he's been flat and disappointing. We have altador for a different role, Donovan wouldn't fit in the holding role that Altadore is supposed to be fulfilling (granted he's been in a huge goal scoring slump). Honestly I think Donovan is overrated. His time in the EPL did alot to help with his undeserved prima-donna attitude that he carried for the first half of his career, but he's backslid alot in the last years that he hasn't gone overseas in the off season.
All that being said, I think we've got an outside chance to make it out of the group. We can beat Ghana, if not for the tired OT legs (we'd had 2-3 OT games prior in the group stages) I think we would have won. US v Ghana really is a dice throw I think. And if we can catch a little fire and carry it through we have a chance against Germany or Portugal.
