  1. Frenzy is a lot better in 8th edition than it was in 7th for a couple reasons.  First is that units are generally easier to maneuver and harder to avoid, so leading frenzied troops on a merry chase is harder.  Second, it isn't an auto-charge anymore, a leadership test will let you opt not to charge.  A +1 leadership banner is revoltingly cheap and either that or a BSB is generally enough to keep them in line.  It adds an extra random factor which makes them harder to control, but I think the +1A is worth it.

Was that supposed to be posted in "hello fantasy its been a while"?

  2. Having wacky scenarios makes the game more random on one hand, which can make it unbalanced if you involve too much luck of the dice but can allow for each game to be different, which IMO what they are trying to do with all the random things in 6th edition, so that each game isnt exactly the same.

On the other hand wacky scenareos and lots of rolls slow the game down, make it harder to learn and make it harder to rely on unit y to do x duty in a battle. Makes it harder to write a list that can effectivly do a variety of missions if each mission is so different.

  3. I would try and make him more fleshy, maybe take off the back of the dread to make it look like its something the warboss can get in and out off.

So use bent metal to make it look like he ripped a hole in the back and has ripped out the marine and is now inside. You could even chop off a dread leg and have it connecting to the guy inside.

  4. I realize I am trolling this a little, but this part of the board isn't very active. I really like space action games, but I don't have anyone to play with, and little enough time as it is to split between the games I do play. If there was an active garage group I could get into I'd buy a fleet, but I think I have seen this game played twice in all the years since I have known about it. Then again, I haven't been looking for a game.

I was about to exclaim in happyness that someone finally posted something here. But no :( i wish more people played dystopian wars and spartan games.
