  1. @barcathanks for showing me around yesterday! I really enjoyed the wealth of information you presented about the game and the gaming group in general. Really excited to get back into the game again! What is a good list you mentioned to start off with the Afrika corp? A single tiger and ...

  2. Sooo, I picked up Iron Maiden and trying to figure out what is a good starter list. I'm trying to avoid painting infantry because I haaaate it. If I create a Recce list with no infantry will that be really tough to be somewhat competitive? I've been hearing that having infantry helps with holding on to objectives.

The game is mostly like it used always has been. Some of the historical flavor is gone in the latest edition thus far. I have been playing from the beginning of FOW in 2003. I play TY and 4th edition MW. I have not yet played a late war game but it uses the same rules as MW just different units. I am happy to be back to mid war I have been playing to much late war for many years. Join us on thursday evenings, at guardian games, and we can get you plenty of information and get you back into the know and if you like we can loan you an army to roll some dice.

Yeah, I'd love to drop by and see how it plays out. TY looks pretty fun. Wouldn't mind starting something new.

    what is different.

    • Core mechanics mostly the same.
    • Basing the same.
    • For details, see links below.

    Do I need unit cards?

    • Not if you have the relevant book.
    • A v4 Force handbook" (MW) or these conversion pdfs: Flames Of War, 1939-41 and 1944-45 rulebook and Special Rules and Warriors, 1939-41 and 1944-45

Which rulebook should I be picking up?

    • FW007 Flames Of War Rulebook - Mid War
    • A paperback edition (full rule book, pages match the Hardcover formatted rulebook) is included in each of these starter boxes: BRAB09 Monty's Desert Rats (Plastic), GEAB14 Rommel's Afrika Korps (Plastic), USAB08 Patton’s Fighting First

Best way is to get some hands-on time. Come to Guardian Games (if U can) on Thursday evening, or Oregon City Geeks and Games most Tuesday evenings.
