  1. Figured I would check the forums with this odd request before I go hitting the stores.

Since the house I just bought has a glass top stove I need to find an alternate method to make my annual pickles.

If anyone has a portable induction cooktop strong enough for canning they want to get rid of or a good suggestion on somewhere in the Vancouver/Portland area to get one it would be greatly appreciated.

Please no shipping offers I would like to do the trade in person, and am local to the Vancouver/Portland area

  2. Mr. Bigglesworth that is a great article

Brother G. I have some experience with this as I use a large TV for one of my monitors as well as I have helped a friend that had issues with his.

One thing to note is that the quality will drastically go down hill if you do not keep the TV at its optimal resolution ratio. This was an issue my friend had as he played a good amount of older games and due to the resolution ratio on those games they would not even display on the monitor he would get a black screen.

I personally love my TV that I use. I picked up a 32 inch Samsung LED TV During a sale. I wall mounted it above my desk and use a HDMI cable for the connection. In its native resolution it has solid quality and I can read web pages and text from up to 20 feet away. the only downside I had was that I was used to my older monitor that could hit much Higher resolution ratios. The biggest impact to the smaller resolutions of the TV for me is to things like programming or data analytics where you want to have as much information on the screen as possible.

There is my 2 cents on the conversation

  3. Some blind people simply choose not to have a service animal.

My father is legally blind and chooses not to have a service animal at this point in his life.

Some stores will offer assistance to these folks as a courtesy (also it helps save their other customers from having a blind man run into everyone with their cart)

  4. Side note the portion from the FAQ draft that was most likely referenced by the other player

Q: Can a vehicle that has Jinked, or which has a suffered a Crew Shaken or Crew Stunned result, use Power of the Machine Spirit to fire 1 weapon at full Ballistic Skill?
    A: Yes.

But as my earlier post explains full ballistic skill does not overpower the snapshot rule.

  5. My two cents is rules as written this would not have been permitted.

Being Shaken or stunned has no impact on Ballistic Skill(BS) stat (they force snap shots, which the result of that rule treats all shots made as snap shots as BS 1 regardless of the models BS), and the power of the machine spirit shots are still subject to the normal rules of shooting.

    BRB pg 76 Shaken/Stunned

"vehicle can only fire snap shots until the end of its turn"

    BRB pg 41 Ordnance weapons

    "Ordnance weapons cannot fire snapshots."

BRB pg 169 Power of the Machine spirit.

"The vehicle can fire one more weapon at its full Ballistic Skill than normally permitted. In addition, this weapon can be fired at a different target unit to any other weapons, subject to the normal rules for shooting."

  6. I would have to go with its a grey area. If you do take them with a formation, I would say they do not benefit from the formations special rules as it states in the formation rules that the units listed get the special rules. but the BRB is clear that these types of units can be taken even if the slot for them does not exist in the detachment.

CAD and Formations are two different types of detachments

CAD have force organization slots based on battlefield role

Formations have specific unit requirements. in the BRB pg 121 it states "Instead of including a Force organisation chart, the Army list entries that comprise the formation are listed on it, along with any rules those units gain"

Army list entries that do not use force organisation slots BRB pg 121 it states "These units can be included in any Detachment, even if all the slots of the appropriate Battlefield Role are filled with other units or if the Detachment had no slot for their Battlefield role."

Just my 2 cents to the conversation

  7. Just my two cents as someone fairly new to the game but I play with friends that use these situations a lot.

the rules for independent characters (pg 166 BRB) specifically state that if a IC does not have infiltrate it is unable to join a unit that does. the lack of the opposite statement leads my group to believe you can put an infiltrate IC into a non Infiltrate unit.

Infiltrate (pg 167 BRB) states as long as one model in the unit has infiltrate the entire unit and even their transport may infiltrate

however the deep strike example does not fall under this.

Deep Strike (pg 162 BRB) states that ALL models in the unit must have the special rule to start the game in reserves.

Hope this helps, I am sure others will let me know if my interpretation is wrong.

  8. If you want to take Splinx's Cultists, I could always swap you the pistol/CCW for the others you don't need :)

    I have NOS or Assembled.

If your specifically talking about the pistol/CCW guy that only comes in dark vengeance and there is only 2 of him per box and I don't have those to spare.

    PM me if you like
