  1. Quick questions about some of the possible results from the "Desperate Measures" inducement:

    Quote

6 Sports Espionage: You have hired a spy to steal your opponent's playbook in order to give your team the edge. You may play this Desperate Measure when your team suffers a Turnover. Using this Desperate Measure grants your team a free team re-roll.

Is the idea that I can use that re-roll on the failed roll that caused the Turnover, or that I bank it for later? It reads like the latter, but I'm not sure why it's tied to a turnover at all in that case.

    Quote

7 Discarded Banana Skin: Someone has been snacking on an energy-boosting banana. You may play this Desperate Measure when an opposing player enters the Tackle Zone of one of your players. The opposing player immediately Falls Over.

And that's a turnover for them, correct?

See Step 2 of the selection process. The skill assignment must be legal, so a coach can give it to a player with Primary or Secondary access to Mutations. We have a Chaos Chosen and Skaven team in the league.

Oh, so why is there a Value Increase listing for Unavailable skill, with Mutations given as a specific example?

    undead thoughts:

    1 Mummy (125)

    1 Ghoul(75)

    2 Wights (180)

    4 Zombies (160)

4/6 Dedicated fans (I have no idea what they do, but you folks make them sound important)

    Total: 600

Fans basically produce extra income after each game. They can go up and down naturally after games, too.

Do skeletons have any more value in Sevens because there's no real LOS to drop the zombies on?

This sounds like a lot of Mathammer for Blood Bowl, not to mention Sevens. In game 1, when you lose both your best players to failed Rush rolls... you will remember what game you're playing.

Until the league actually starts, all I can do is scheme to maximize my chances of success with a joke team that I've never used before in a tabletop dice game that I've played like ten games of in my life

Well... if you plan on losing every game in 7's...  only 2.

a Dedicated Fan makes 5k a game and you lose one if you roll under the number of fans after losing a game. So the third DF, on average earns 15k before you lose him.

That doesn't sound wrong, but on the other hand each successive Dedicated Fan is "ablative armor" for the lower numbers, ensuring that they stick around longer to give profit.

I'm sure some Real Math (tm) could give me more information, but thinking about it, if I bought 5 extra Dedicated Fans for 100,000, the absolute worst result would be that over my first five games, I lose each match AND lose a fan factor each time. Over that period, the extra DF that I bought would still make me 75,000 gp (25+20+15+10+5) additional gold on top of the base that I'd be getting from the automatic 1 DF. If I make a few of the rolls to retain fans (which of course becomes more likely the fewer fans I have), then it seems pretty likely that the investment would at least pay for itself. Even if it didn't make a profit, at least it would even out my income stream and avoid treasury mishaps from hoarding money. (Obviously this is still not factoring in the possibility that I actually win any games.)

What this is really hammering home to me is that if Dedicated Fans cost 10k instead of 20k, they're a VERY good deal.

It's ok, in 7s they aren't that good

They'll be very good at crushing Titchy players, is all.

I am potentially interested, but is there anywhere to buy the new base rules and DZ1 without buying the whole new game box?

Yeah, they're both available individually. You probably don't need Death Zone, either - the Sevens rules are short and I'm sure there will be copies around to reference.

  7. the Death Bed Friendlies - Snotlings

These enthusiastic Daemons of Nurgle are just happy to be here - literally, given that most leagues maintain discriminatory rules requiring players to have "actual, objective, and verifiable physical existence on the material plane." Thanks to the looser bookkeeping in the Border Princes, this mob of Nurglings is finally leaving the Realm of Chaos for a chance to play games, make friends, and most importantly, have fun! They're chaperoned by (Lesser) Great Unclean Ones, who unfortunately have little interest in Blood Bowl, and are liable to be distracted by the entertaining antics of their adorable cousins.

I thought the modern 7s rules does not give SPP anymore? So no CAS SPP, no TD SPP. ( page 96 )

At the end of each game you pick a player and give then a random primary skill ( or randomly pick a player ad give them a random secondary skill )

Before this you roll to see if any of your advanced players leave your team for the the big leagues.

I think @jollyork meant to say LPs there, not SPPs; the first draft League rules he proposed gives bonus League Points for causing casualties that would normally have given you SPPs. It sounds like the skill gains will definitely be by the book (possibly with an additional "skill drafting" mechanic added on as well).
