fluger
Necro-threading this because I like the idea of mech SM in 7th.
pretre
Yeah, I've been noodling something with Space Wolves. I think Razorspam can definitely work again.
fluger
It was really interesting seeing how resilient vehicles are with only 7s causing explosions.
VonVilkee
Have to switch the land raider to at least a redeemer pattern. Regular land raiders dropped to transport 10 leaving you no where for your chaplain.

fluger
Probably go crusader since I lack a lot of anti-infantry in general. Phooey.
pretre
Another thing I was thinking about. Priests. For Space Wolves, we need 18 points (54 minimum) and an elite slot to get Ld9 and an upgrade character to lead our GH. For 25 points, I can get an allied Ministorum Priest who gives them fearless, rerolls on the charge and War Hymns. Hmm. So unfluffy, it isn't funny, but soo good. If I do it, maybe I'll kitbash some marauders/scouts.
fluger
IIRC since they aren't part of an FOC, you can't take them in an ally detachment. I could be wrong though.

I haven't seen anything about that. Page 121 says that they can be used in any detachment.
fluger
I think what I was thinking is that they can't be taken as the 1 HQ minimum. So you'd have to get something else as well.

fluger
But at that point, the "25" points isn't really 25 points anymore. Know what I mean?
pretre
But at that point, the "25" points isn't really 25 points anymore. Know what I mean? Very true, but it isn't like the other choices are bad. Either some SOB or some Guard.

fluger
Putting 65 marines on my opponent's front porch early on is a nice way to get a solid alpha strike. Lots of melta and plasma for tougher nuts, as well as TL Assault cannons up close and personal. The command squad with 5 meltas is joined by Kor'ssaro and they can move up and burn down quite a few things. The hunter helps with anti-air as needed as does all the TL assault cannons and potentially the predators' TL Lascannons.
TW_Haines
That list scares me alot more than the razor spam list. Dont get me wrong, I am a mech junky and would get crushed by your razor spam. Only thing is I can fight back against it. That many marines up close and in my face forces me to play your game plan not mine. For me I can hang if I get to run the tempo, but rocked back on my heels I struggle. I think thats a winning list you have there. PS only change I can see is, I love setting my preds up with the autocannon and las sponsons. TW Haines
