Kingpin Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Alright so 1850 Imperial Guard with a double cad. Here we go. HQ Commissar Lord, Power fist Priest Priest Priest Troops Infantry platoon 3 Infantry squads, Power axe and melta bombs Platoon command squad with nothing 20 Conscripts Infantry platoon 3 Infantry squads, Power axe and melta bombs Platoon command squad with nothing Infantry platoon 3 Infantry squads, Power axe and melta bombs Platoon command squad with nothing HQ Commissar Lord, Power fist Priest Priest Priest Troops Infantry platoon 3 Infantry squads, Power axe and melta bombs Platoon command squad with nothing Infantry platoon 3 Infantry squads, Power axe and melta bombs Platoon command squad with nothing Infantry platoon 3 Infantry squads, Power axe and melta bombs Platoon command squad with nothing So that is 238 bodies on the table almost all of which are fearless with the priests. The conscripts provide first turn cover by standing in the front and as long as one of the commissars is near by they are LD 10. Its not power house list. Just really hard to grind that many fearless bodies. Other then running out of time every game do you think it would work? 1 Quote
AbusePuppy Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 All-infantry IG is potentially a viable list, although I think you're over-focusing on certain aspects. Just marching guys with lasguns and melee weapons forward isn't gonna win you the game against armies that are mobile enough to selectively engage you (e.g. bikes or Eldar) or armies that have enough firepower to cut you apart before you can crawl across the field (Tau, other IG.) You'll also have a ton of trouble across enemy melee lists that can match you punch for punch, like Orks and Khorne Dogs. A stronger version would focus more on IG's support elements (including Orders from Yarrick combined with Lascannon blobs), long-range shooting (like Thudd Gun batteries and other artillery) and then combine that with an aggressive blob or two of melee elements to take midfield/enemy objectives and provide additional threat. Allies also can help a lot, such as a Librarius Conclave or Azrael, but they're not mandatory. Quote
Lord Hanaur Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 The Conscripts are just blast shileding i assume. run forward, form a line to provide cover from stuff that isnt overly tall? Conscripts cant blob up so they are not fearless correct? Quote
