barca Posted November 8, 2016 Author Report Share Posted November 8, 2016 One set of TY terms that confuses FoW players are the terms describing the force structure: Force, Formation, and Unit Hierarchy (highest to lowest, largest to smallest): Force, Formation, Unit HQ: 1-2 tanks, or 1-2 teams UNIT: US/NATO: platoon-size element (for combat units), or a section/platoon (for supporting units): 2-5 vehicles, 4-8 infantry teams, platoon of 2-4 Aircraft, Flight of 2-4 Aircraft SOV/Warsaw Pact (WP): company (for combat units), or Platoon/Company (for supporting units): 2-12 vehicles, 7-21 infantry teams, 2-6 Aircraft FORMATION: A company/squadron-size element of HQ with 2 or more Combat units, plus supporting units. Equivalent to a US/NATO Company-Team (a.k.a. "Combat Team"), or WP Battalion. Supporting units add Battalion/Brigade/Regt/Division assets. FORCE: One or more formations.
