  1. I think what Munkie is saying is that artillery players are placing their warmachine sideways, right against the deployment line.  When you go to fire, you pivot the barrel over the deployment line and therefore gain an inch or so.   If your opponent has also deployed a unit on his deployment line, you should be able to hit them (if you're using a helblaster or something similar with a 24" range).

  2. This is exactly what I've been wanting to do - set up a little scenic diorama to showcase my painted units.  The backdrop is super cool - I was thinking of buying a railroad one off of Ebay but didn't really need it to be 10 feet long.  I took a picture of Mt. Baker up here in Washington that's suitabley grandiose and had it/printed shipped to me online.  Should arrive this week.

Will keep this thread bookmarked for inspiration / motivation!

  3. The OOP Forgeworld Temple Saurus?

Someone suggested using the McFarlane Warcraft figs awhile back.  I picked up one with two giant-bullywug looking guys on the base.  Mean looking guys with kroot-like spikes coming off their backs.  One guy jumping from a rock is about the same height as GW's - you can have them for free if you make it down to Redmond.  If you PM me your number I can shoot you a picture too

  4. Yeah, that's hard to say based on the board and your field of vision.

I tend to take two cannons and spread them out.  Each covers a somewhat diagonal arc across the board (if possible) with the knights a little forward and off to the side.  Most fliers will try to come straight on at the warmachine so you can react with the knights to intercept, even if its shuffling sideways to prevent a turn 2 charge (and blocking LOS to the cannon).

If you're fielding an Engineer (recommended with a Helblaster), you can also give him a Ruby Ring.  A little fireball action does wonders against skirmishing warmachine hunters since there's no minus to hit with shooting.  Another ding against crossbows / handgunners.

Don't worry too much about keeping them alive the whole game.  Prioritize your targets and take down as much as you can in the first half.  Even if they keep big meanies hiding behind cover, they're doing a good job.  I actually find that they kinda sit around in the later turns because the pickings are slim.  Maybe finishing off a fleeing model or two just for the points.

  5. I've had more than my fair share of casino's this past year.  So dang smokey and disgusting, so much human misery and hopelessness.  Gah.

Did see MC Hammer last Fall and the wife got a great picture with him - stopped and posed right during a song

    Proppa!
