Duffy, Christopher. The military experience in the Age of Reason, 1715-1789. Interesting look at the soldier's eye view of war in the 18th century, from recruiting and barracks life to fighting in battle. A nice change from the usual military history focusing on tactics, strategy, and politics.

Tillamook Forest Center is worth a stop if you're on Highway 6. Ditto the Tillamook Air Museum, if only to gawk at the size of the building.
I like the Leach Botanical Garden, but I'm not sure how much it would appeal to a teenager. It's probably a bit out of the way, too. If the weather's clear, though, Powell Butte has some good hiking and views.
If you head out the Gorge way, I recommend the Gorge Interpretive Center in Stevenson, WA; the Hood River fruit loop; and the Western Antique Air and Automobile Museum in Hood River. (Especially the fruit loop, since we're heading into apple season.) One of my favorite drives is to do a loop out highway 26 to the Hood River Valley and come back on I-84. Lets you hit Timberline Lodge, too.

They're definitely rocking a Necron vibe. I want to see some kind of bone giant or something, though.

Color me interested.

I've always had a bit of trouble painting over the Platemail. It might work better if you wash it then do a light matte coat before trying other paints.

Not interested myself, but I shared this with some local Warmachine players.

Apparently they just bought a little game store in Newberg. Maybe they were just tired of dealing with Portland City Hall - or maybe once you're in the game biz, you can never really get out...

I have the Carrion Empire box, and I'd like to trade the Flesh Eater Courts half if anyone has the Skaven half to spare.

Maybe try doing the casing in dark silver and the aquila in a white that matches the armor.
Actually, these are reminding me of rebel snowtroopers on Hoth. Maybe take some cues from that.

Make sure the base contrasts with the rest of the figure, too. Right now the boots kind of blend in.

A link to a link for the details is poor form, especially when there is nothing being answered anywhere besides "Steamroller! 75 Points! Top 8 get points for Warmachine Weekend!"
This is a Steamroller, 75 points, 1-2 lists, what else? Painting required? Timed rounds? Chess clocks? Death clock? Prize support? Base line? Specialists? Final Standing variants? Any "House Rules" we need to be made aware of? Will the scenarios be published before hand, or will it be random each round? Do I need to bring my own objectives? Do I need physical cards, or will Warroom be enough? We are submitting lists via conflict chamber, but should I bring paper copies for my opponents without a tablet? Will there be free wifi for internet and using conflict chamber? Are you providing any incentive for people to continue playing after they lose a game? Only top 8 get points, and I imagine you'll have the standard Steamroller prize kit, so only 1-3 will get a trophy?
Thanks Jesselowe for posting SOMETHING. I was about to ask because a buddy in Seattle told me about this even this weekend and was asking questions I couldn't answer. Many of the questions above are from him.
I am not the tournament organizer, I'm just signal boosting.
AFAIK, though: Standard steamroller, with death clock, as per the current steamroller packet. As for questions not answered there: What is "Base line?" Specialists are no longer a thing. Final standings might be based on average of CP and AP as tiebreakers, but you'd have to check with the TO. No house rules I know of. Objectives and scenario elements will be provided. I recommend bringing a printout of your Conflict Chamber list, just in case. I don't know about wifi at the venue. The only incentive to keep playing after you lose is because you enjoy playing the game. Check with the TO about the prize kit and prize support.

If you're interested in competitive Warmachine or just want to get three or four games down in one day, check out the PDX Open on March 2nd. Capped at 64 players.

Not actually a new trailer, but seriously, go take a look at the official website for the movie.
That's the best thing I've seen all day.

IIRC, you may want to seal it with something like PVA glue first, so the wood doesn't suck up too much paint.

Is anyone playing/interested in playing at Red Castle or the Eastport Games Workshop store?

Figured I'd share.

The most important question is: What do the Saga dice look like?!

So... anyone gotten a game of this in yet?

Stellaris patch 2.2 (LeGuin) has brought some major changes to the gameplay. So far I'm enjoying it - it seems to encourage slower expansion.

Color me intrigued.
