Thanks for the kind words. Honestly, I have become much more interested in making terrain than in painting minis. I feel like I have painted enough armies and if I never paint another miniature soldier, I will be ok. I still enjoy doing weird one off minis, like an enraged Tiki statue that I have on my bench now, but really i just want to make buildings and such.

Gale Force 9 makes some basing rubble in various sizes. I usually use their largest chunks for the larger piles, but then I use model rail road ballast for the smaller rubble. It is much cheaper than the GF9 stuff and comes in different sizes.

In my never ending quest for a nice looking Stalingrad table, I have made this destroyed row of stores. I took detailed photos so people can copy my techniques.

I had picked up this Tamiya kit of broken walls, sandbags, and tank traps. Sorry the picture shows upside down. I rotated it on photobucket, but it still looks like this. Ugh.

I ran out of wall sections so made one from foam core and made a rubble pile out of pink foam around it.

Scarydog, I have tried numerous ways to glue down that Plastruct molded plasticard in the past. The best way I have found is to use some stuff called Hob-e-Tac by Woodland scenics. You brush it on, wait aa few minutes until it turns clear, and then press the parts together. It is tacky and remains a bit flexible. Every other way I have used to attach that sheet to stuff ends up failing.

I made this 28mm graveyard to use with Bolt Action, but also think it will go well with any number of settings.

For the walls, I took foam core and covered it with stone patterned plasticard. The wall tops and the columns are pink insulating foam. The gates are from a kit I had.

The crypts are more pink foam. I made the tombstones from Super Sculpey. The trees are from another kit I had.

I make a lot of terrain. This tutorial helped me get my start and applies to 28mm as well as 15mm.

The biggest thing I can tell you is buy ceramcoat paints. Much cheaper than mini paints and work just as good for terrain. If you go much cheaper than the ceramcoat, the paint is too watery and crappy.

How many points: 1000 point list from any Bolt Action army book or main rule book.

Number of dice: There will be no limit to the number of activation dice, but we ask that if you are using a high number of activation dice then please be a fast mover and knowledgeable of your list.

Tournament victory points are awarded as follows:

2 Points for a win

1 Point for a draw

0 points for a loss

Players must also keep track of the requisition points values units they have destroyed. These are called "casualty points."

Tournament victory is determined first by total victory points.

In case of a tie, then the player with the most casualty points is the victor.

In the case of a further tie, if both players have played each other in the tournament, then that victor is the winner.

If not, they will be declared co-victors.

Prizes will be awarded for Best General, Best Painted Army, as well as a random draw.

Painted armies are strongly encouraged, but not required.

The goal of this tournament is to have fun, play fair, and meet new friends.

I kickstarted Achtung Cthulhu!. It is a RPG supplement for Cthulhu in WWII. Haven't played yet, but plan on starting up next month.

That is what i was going for. It is used as cover, not a building. Buildings in BA are a little too impregnable, so I wanted it to be a shell of its former self, so to speak. The front corner is perfect for a machine gun nest. The upper level for snipers. A tank could pass through the main part if need be.

Here is a bombed out apartment building I scratch built from foam core, coffee stirs, and small dowels (with a bit of pre-made staircase and tile floor). I thought it would look good for Stalingrad or any larger city. I started it a few months ago and just got around to finishing it up. Can't wait to play a game with it.

I was hoping to make it happen in January, but had to push into February. Probably for the best as it gives me more time to make terrain for tables.

We have 2 possible days from Guardian to choose from. February 15th or February 22nd. Both are Saturdays. Any preferences or conflicts?

I am leaning towards the 22nd, simply because the 15th is the day after Valentine's Day (plus it gives me an extra week to organize.)

Looking at 1000 point tournament.

I agree that the windows are kinda bare. I am hoping to draw up an insert that has shutters and a frame to get xipetotec to print out for me on his 3D printer. I will paint them up and plug them in later.

The rail is HO scale, which is slightly undersized for 28mm, but cheap and easy to find, so there it is.

I finished up the train station over the holidays. i opted to not worry about the wood, as there is enough other detail that it seems to work ok. Plus, i am lazy.
