I am bringing a table and it can be whatever the group likes-let me know what you want. I have a questionable reputation of building tables that are "too busy", or "too urban" and I don't want people to grumble too loudly. Happy to build whatever people want to play on. Let me know. If Ben builds a Kursk, Sicily and Sbetila(?) tables...what else do people want to play on? Ben, did you make up that word Sbeitla?

  2. Having moved north to the Seattle metro area after playing in Portland for over a decade... wondering what locations people are playing Flames of War or Team Yankee. Any place is Washington is ok to post, doesn't have to be necessarily in the Seattle greater metro.  What game stores carry the miniatures?

Oh good. I’m having a hard time finding a Ferdinand but I found some Pz IIs. I’ll probably buy a plastic zevezda Ferdinand, though they’re made in Russia so it makes me feel a little ooky.

My models will definitely be painted and based.

lmk if looking for a Battlefront Ferdinand or two. I have NIB GBX127. PM me if interested.

I don't really use facebook much so maybe that is why I'm out of the loop but in any case it looks like its definitely happening.

I had to go do some digging myself as I have not heard anything either. Thanks for the link to the registration page.

For anyone in the know, is nhgs info only available on fb/meta now?

Used to get updates here: https://www.nhmgscitadel.com/

or at older site (https://www.nhmgs.org/) but it is taken over by online gambling website.

I’m just hoping that Wargames Illustrated eventually adds a subscription plan for North America.

from email I had received from them last year. I am a current subscriber.

    Wargames illustrated USA print subscriptions

We are excited to announce that we are changing how Wargames illustrated subscriptions are purchased and shipped to subscribers in the United States. Wargames illustrated subscriptions will now be handled directly by our US partner, Ironheart Artisans, operating out of Bluff City, TN.

Ironheart Artisans are ready to accept quarterly and yearly (print only) subscriptions via their website:

    https://www.ironheartartisans.com

    Why the change?

After several months of recurring mailing problems, postal price rises, and customs changes regarding mailing copies of Wargames illustrated magazines from the UK to the USA, we have decided to make significant changes to the way our United States based subscriptions are handled. Having a USA based distributor will ensure you get a far better and more reliable service.

    What will happen?

As an existing subscriber to the magazine, you will see some changes in the next few days:

    • We will cancel the subscription you have with Wargames illustrated Ltd. in the UK.
    • Wi406 (cover date October) will be the last magazine sent to you from the UK.
    • Your recuring payments, currently paid via PayPal Automatic Payment, will be cancelled - your subscription will end and will not be automatically renewed. You will receive an email from PayPal to this effect.

What to do to continue receiving Wargames illustrated magazine

    1. Initially, nothing! Your subscription will continue until Wi406, our October issue.
      • You will shortly receive email notification from PayPal that “Your automatic payment is no longer active”.
      • You will receive Wi406 (October) in the mail directly from the UK.

    1. Following receipt of Wi406 your UK subscription to Wargames illustrated ends. To receive further copies of the magazine you will need to re-subscribe via Ironheart Artisans: https://www.ironheartartisans.com

A word from Dan, Wargames illustrated owner and Editor

Our decision to stop supplying our subscribers in the United States direct from the UK is not something we have taken lightly. We have been shipping copies of the magazine to our readers in the USA for over 30 years and have a great affection for all our loyal readers there.

We would not have implemented this change if we were not confident that Ironheart Artisans will significantly improve the quality subscription service we have been struggling to provide of late. Since trade relations between the UK and US have conspired to disrupt the reliability and feasibility of shipping the magazine, this seems like the best possible solution.

This new arrangement will make Wargames illustrated subscriptions in the United States more reliable and more timely, hopefully setting us up for many more decades of tabletop adventures together!

    Thank you for your support,

    Dan Faulconbridge

  6. I've been holding off on working on my gw lord of the rings finecast models...but thought I would try again.

Q1: Looking for advice on fixing broken gw lotr finecast weapons. Is there a good way?

    • They seem too small to pin back together; maybe using really small diameter paper clip.
    • Just using ca glue seems like they would still be brittle.
    • Drilling them out and re-sculpting out of metal or greenstuff seems like work.
    • Other ideas?

Q2: Besides not using finecast models in the first place, is there a method to make them stronger before painting so they are less prone to breaking? I was thinking of coating them with liquid greenstuff or ca glue prior to priming to make them stronger.

Example of what I'm looking at in the image.

Here are our recommended points values the 2021 NA tournament season. As usual, final points levels are left up to the TO, and the Battlefront Team does not dictate or change points limits for any tournaments not directly run by Battlefront. Check with your tournament organiser for any information you need.

    Period Points
    Late-war 105 points
    Mid-war 95 points
World War III: Team Yankee 105 points

As we are all well aware, the lasting effects of Covid-19 have had an impact on everyone the world over to host events at this time. As such many dates and locations for events are still in flux and we will update with more details when we know them.

  8. I've been painting 15mm FOW in prep for when it opens up again and trying to relearn the rules with family after sitting out for over a year.  I'm looking forward to playing in an in-person tournament eventually wherever it is in the PNW but probably won't be until mid/late 2021.  Not sure if Enfilade was happening in May or moved to September for 2021 but there was some talk last month about this.
