Do you guys want me to dress a table or is it under control? I am more than happy to support and could do two tables if asked.

Was just getting ready to email everyone but will answer here.

All, Yes please, if you desire to bring terrain for a table please do so as it is much appreciated; not required but sure helps. Email me at pdxwar@gmail.com to let me know for sure that you are bringing it. Such as, an entire table worth including grass mat or just terrain.  Thanks.

  3. I received confirmation today that we get the State room again all day for Flames of War tournament. So we can also do Team Yankee (barca?) in Period E which is 7pm til 11pm after the FOW tournament if desired.

    regards,
    SteveM.

  4. I'm looking forward to barca being FOW HOG for OFCC 2017. I'll support you in any capacity.  It will be a great event this year.

    regards,
    SteveM.

I will be submitting a proposal for HoG for Flames of War.

Anyone else who has an interest can submit, as well.

If this is the one big event you REALLY want to organize this year, then I will step aside.

I have plenty of gaming events and campaigns to run in 2017.

If you have a burning desire to do just this one, it is all yours, as I will be spread thin in 2017.

  5. for item #2, this is/was the idea of having FoW at OFCC.  It works for the other game systems.

    I have two questions:

    1) My bread & butter list is the 291st Engineers from DC.  I love Bulge events.  Are there any plans to have a one-day mega battle or something along that line for those of us folks out of area to join in?  Or, possibly, do you have an online forum or such that folks from Eastern WA/N Idaho & the Lacey area can compete along with you during the campaign?

    2) Besides Tac Sol, is there any planning/brainstorming/buzz on trying to be more inclusive/competitive with the PNW?  I still need to make contact with the MT group, but would there be interest in an interstate convention/state-team competition?

  6. In the past events, we always had unequal numbers on the two teams. The size of the smaller team would dictate the number of scores from the larger team that would count.

For example, Team A has 4 players, Team B has 6 players. Only the top four scores on each team counted when the final scores at the end of the event were reviewed.  Also since the teams were unequal size, the two bottom players on Team B would end up playing each other.  It worked well enough in the past as the team captains made sure the matches were fair for both teams. No one wanted to see a blow out match or charity points.

I did always have a problem with the non-equal team sizes and would have preferred fixed team sizes.  Smaller fixed team sizes provide a means that other regions could be included in a team challenge event; Like OFCC does with other game systems but maybe it is not doable with the numbers.

How did you address unequal size teams? Any suggestions?

  7. ********* EVENT IS CANCELLED ****************

Due to lack of advanced ticket sales the flames of war event is being cancelled for OFCC 2016.  If you purchased a ticket already (two of you) the OFCC treasurer will be getting in touch with you to get you a refund.  If you are traveling here for the event we will work with you to get you into another event.

    regards,

    SteveM.
