My wife witnessed a man buying twelve heads of kale. When the sale was complete, he exclaimed, “We are saved!”
No one family can eat that much kale before it goes bad and I am pretty sure kale won’t save you from the Coronavirus.
Perhaps bought as a TP substitute?

He's great. I'll definitely be picking him up but I don't think I'll actually play him a lot... doesn't fit into my Evil Suns WAAAGH! very well.

Because nothing says “ultimate masters of tactics able to adapt to battlefield conditions on a moments notice to exploit any weakness in the enemy’s battle plan” like having fixed tactics that you use in the same order during every fight.
Blame Guilliman and his Codex Astartes. Dorn wanted to keep his Legion and ways of war, but nooooooo.

I finally made it down to Tammie's. Very good (but not complete, there were gaps and some key colors like VMA Black were out of stock) selection of the Vallejo Model Color and Vallejo Model Air lines, but none of the Game Color, Game Color Air, or Metal Color lines which is disappointing. Totally worth a visit just for the fun of it, there're not many old-school hobby shops around anymore. Bonus points if you can find the oddly eclectic micro-selection of GW stuff. Also, the Sunset Highway is even more of a dumpster fire than it used to be.

These are wonderful. Every single one of them, and there are many. Grab a drink and enjoy your evening,

All the new ork buggies are on bases and it's a royal pain in the ass. It may not seem like much of a difference, but they really bottleneck a lot easier. I wouldn't do it unless I had to.
-
Yeah, I think you're right -- if you print them with the hole already there there's no problem to solve.

Unfortunately, I don't. I only have my rotary tool and a full on driver-drill at the moment.

There are also cheaper 3rd party options. Drill presses are super useful in general.
-
Do you know anyone with a drill press? It's easy to set a drill depth, so no danger of drilling through the base. Plus, it'd go a lot faster than hand-drilling.

Tammies Hobbies in Beaverton has fully stocked Vallejo ranges. I get all of mine from there now.
That's excellent news, thanks! IIRC they also stock AMMO/Mig stuff... gonna be an expensive trip 😉

Guardian can order it, but I've purchased most of mine on-line.
I've been ordering online. I'd rather buy locally, but if Amazon can get it to my house in two days with free shipping that beats one (or two, or three...) weeks of waiting for a special order to show up the the FLGS every single time.

Check out the Sector Imperialis Large Base Detail Kit, there's a pile of little gubbins that'd do the trick in there...

Guardian is the best I know of at this point.
Oh cool, did they do a restock after they re-organized the store? Last time I was there they had dumped all the Vallejo stock into giant tupperware containers for customers to root through 🙄

Does anyone know if any stores in the Portland area maintain a decent stock level of the Vallejo paint lineup (Game Color, Game Air, Model Color, Model Air, Metal Color, etc.)? I know several have sparse, well picked-over displays but I'm hoping to find one that actually maintains the line...

That's tempting. If for some reason I wasn't able to do the whole tabletop wargaming thing, I'd be deep in model train nerdery.

That said, Bryan told me about Castrol Super Clean, think it was like 1-2 hours to soak then the paint just peeled off. PROBLEM, it's very caustic and cancerous, use ventilation and proper hazard gloves!
It's caustic, but not a carcinogen. Gloves are definitely a good idea 👍 and I'd wear safety glasses if I didn't already have to wear specs.

Castrol's is a degreaser, ya?
Sounds right.

One of the Youtube hobby duders (Tabletop Minions maybe? Or maybe Goobertown Hobbies...) did a test of a few of the popular methods (Simple Green, Castrol Superclean, etc.) and found they pretty much work the same. I'm too lazy to find the link ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I use Castrol SuperClean and it works fine for me. I've used Simple Green, and it worked fine too. I used brake fluid long ago, and it worked fine too -- though the jury is still out on whether I got a tumor from it.

I just wish they had non-video guides and tutorials. I can never get anything from videos.
Goonhammer has been knocking it out of the park lately, for example they just recently posted a really good article on painting flesh.

My favorite part is in the new airbrushing videos, where Caleb W. (the presenter) awkwardly tries to pour GW's 'Air' paint out of the goofy bottle and into the airbrush cup without coating the desktop.

There's a Chinese restaurant around here called Pau's. Every time I see it, I think it should be T'pau's.
There's a Vietnamese place across the street, Pho Ton torpedo.

I might try playing one of the many long "epic music mixes" on Youtube next game...

According to my mum (ex-pat Brit), the UK isn't even a part of Europe geographically. It's its own continent.
