BLAST weapons are called out as not being able to be used within 1", so it seems unlikely flamers will be BLAST... at least according to the Goonhammer article I'm reading.

If flamers become BLAST weapons, it's time to stop building Ork boyz 😬

Both FLG and Nova have stated their tournaments will use the minimum (reduced) size. Where they lead, tournaments follow. They're gonna sell a crapload to tournaments and tournament players who want to play on the 'official' sized mat. Not saying they're evil geniuses that planned this from the beginning, just that it's... convenient for a part of their business that had previously crested the top of the sales curve.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't do tournaments, only playing in my basement on my 4x6 which ain't gonna change (unless there's a OFCC in '21 -- never been to one and it's right here in my back yard). I can, however, spot... conveniences.

I've been looking for an excuse to replace my 4x6 with a 4x8. Onslaught on a 4x8, baby!

If I read things right, most armies will be getting more CP with the new system, so spending a few to get a 'recreational' additional detachment is net zero CP cost relative to the current edition. Maybe even a bump if one is frugal 😉 

@Inquisitor66 I haven't said it yet, so this is really late in coming but: Thanks for doing this. Having this motivator really helps with the whole shelter in place thing.

n00b question: Is there any platform dependency? If I get the game on my PS4, can I join in or do I need to get the Steam version on my Mac?

I most definitely don't need to start a new army, but those new Necrons are gonna have me starting a new army.

Exactly when depends on your definition of 'few' but in my mind, a few weeks is less than a couple of months. I hope to see in pre-order first week of July ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

I'd be happy to ditch re-rolls across the board. The bubble-based ones are too powerful for my tastes (I mean, why even make the rolls for Space Marines..? just say you hit with all shots minus one, and wound with all hits minus one and you're there...) and the one-offs pull all the drama from the game (explosions, perils of the warp, etc. are all negated).

Lost some motivation this week, but it's not like there's a hell of a lot else to do these days so voila. Imperial Fist Primaris Captain done.

I love what you're doing with this army. Just gorgeous.

I don't like the green rods for the same reason I don't like color shift paint... it doesn't look right at that scale. IMO it doesn't match the way light reflects off the model and breaks immersion. YMMV.
