  1. In a more general way of answering, the orc would have never been able to react to the marker shot at all.

the orc would be able to ARO the marker's firing model if it is visible to the orc.

You generate an ARO in response to the expenditure of a model using an order that the ARO model can see, or that is made within your ZoC (witholding for sslvl2 and so on).

this is how mines are able to be dropped around corners to pin down the enemy, which is an Ariadnan staple!

  2. Really I would strongly suggest playing, and expanding on what aspects you want to learn to accomplish better. Composition is far less important than experience and on table tactical flexibility/adaptability.

I reference again the Interplanetary ITS in spain, so many of the lists look so generic, but the player refined and knew their methods to a T. top three had had their lists demeaned as being mathematically subpar or imperfect. They won hahaha

    musta rolled all them crits!

  3. George is, THE WORST lololol

Yep i get ya. When i was in the teens i was way more competitive with non historical games. Your description of maturing through percection of the hobby makes perfect sense to more than just me i bet!

A game like infinity would have attracted, and frustrated me for having to interact with my opponent to deduce the situation.

Now it is the reason i love this game. It sorts out and exposes how a player really is looking to play the game. The super duper blindside game, or the on table tactics? New players do get awfully roughed up though, but that learning phase passes fast for those that stick through the hazing.

Hazing = ad combat drop shotgun in the back field and or duroc with a few cups of coffee etc

The game simply stops when the waac plays 'that way'. If their interpretation of the rules is self serving, infinity is reciprocal so that is almost always hilariously fun to see how that will work for that game hahaha.

We can all rant on bad games, but i bet we have had more good and great games played, and will have more!

On phone so i cant go on more at this time sorry

  4. http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/33170-mox-boarding-house-tournament-steel-phalanx-art-online-perspective/

But his list and method by no means a prescription for wins, as his play style/list requires spectacular target prioritization and position play. It is very order hungry and desperate to keep models alive as a result (low stamina in a protracted exchange).

Different and clever plays on his part, which is tricky because you think you know how he is going to play by looking at the list and pulls something different when pressed.

Happy I had him round one!

A neat read from the person who took 1st place at our tournament up here, and I was his first round face to be stomped!

Great player (the best I have yet met), and a treat to lose to.

Though he speaks a bit ill of some other games (which you may or may not agree with), it does not detract from the thrust of the post.

    Enjoy!

  6. ASS suffer in the mid range band, and a little in the short range band, but the long and melee are solid!

Played my first round of this last saturday's tournament vs the ASS player that took 1st place, and he showed me how limited that weakness is in the hands of a good player hahaha (me=stomped) hahaha

  7. Severely rad having seen new faces! Only Portland chap I got to roll with was my round 2 PanO mate (I dont know his forum handle but his name was Dan if I heard correctly), so I call y'all out next time!

I am always extremely thankful to play people who are savvy on the rules, and civil on the table!

A bajillion thanks for making the drive, and for the consideration you showed by bringing terrain with you.

Hope to see some of you again when I make it down in a month.

  9. It is part of the "surprise shot" rule.

When an active player (does not work in aro) performs an attack (melee or ranged) that reveals the model from the camo token state (TO or regular camo for instance), the enemy is caught unawares and suffers a -3 penalty to respond.

This is dangerous as the -3 comes on top of the -6 for TO as is. Plus cover and range band if you can manage it can stack up to make them just pray for a dodge hahaha.

Remember +-12 is the max modifier though

  10. camo and mines are two of my most loved skills hahaha

very useful and a real pain in the neck to an unaware opponent!

Once you get the hang of it though you will handle it just fine. We learned by getting beat up by a steel phalanx player for a while, but learned how it worked and changed our tactics without having to change equipment for the most part.

  11.

Even when you are hit against the ropes, don't give up!

Fighting from the back foot is not only possible, but a definite part of this game.

His batreps have gotten better as he has learned the rules better and began making his own batreps.

that rebound effect is very visible in that batrep!
