  1. I was so surprised they spent so much time on us!

They said nothing to Nastasya and I before they aired, so it was the first time we got to hear their thoughts, and whew, was that some intense listening on our part hahaha

New stuff soon, just working out final production details (aesthetic vs production vs design as always)

    Thanks!!

  2. Hey rd have you written them? I bet they might have the same supplier as most everyone else who makes those matts (large scale multi media printing in china), and i take each suggestion extremely seriously. If someone has gone through the effort to actually wrote me, they are likely strongly invested in the thought!

  3. indytim is spot on, and i repeat.

A couple of games in, and the dogma of old games out, you'll see how to handle/evade/predict such one shot plays (which when failed are almost always death).

Aro shoot is not always the answer.

Not everyone has to be looking the same way (watch your six).

AD combat jump is how you will learn that ^ lesson ONCE hahaha

List building gets you only so far, order use gets you farther.

  4. I walked in and saw a game that looked fantastic on the table.

There were not hanfulls of models dropped in corners to be fiddled with and re-ranked between games.

I was able to see flanks, fronts, and the weight of the fight on the table. This is significant as I have not played yet, and I dont know the troops. In 8th this would not have been as clear to an observer lacking esoteric knowledge of the game.

The players seemed happy and engaged, rather than stressed. I saw the rulebook opened once to see if a fireball magic attack would suffer shooting penalties (I think that was the question).

This game is in my immediate future

  5. Where are you roughly? If you are in the bellevue/redmond area I would love to have some talk and games with ya!

The hardest part of the entire game, is learning the Orders cadence. Once you get that interaction clean, everything else just falls in to place.

The models and tables do look amazing when done up, and are always the eye catchers at the shop here.

Drop me a line if I can help!

  6. I talk with the owner often, as our common industry has brought us to meet and talk shop.

I certainly do not have stock in his company or anything if that is what you mean hahaha

Just saw that if you were looking for this kind of table, BSI would do you better

  7. yeah BSI has additions to raise the elevation of those tables even more in the works.

Here are some proto pics he showed me recently.

Would work much better for playing on, as compared to much of the other stuff out there.

Sad thing is that most terrain being sold right now makes the game kind of become a paintball match, with all the simplified maneuver that entails.

With little concern for elevation and multi angled total cover, the game becomes a pie slicing nightmare.

BSI has put some real game function thought in to these for improved modularity, and it shows in how games are actually played on it.

  8. the fleshed out sectorials is going to be a really massive impact on the game, so I am 100% on them making sure it goes well.

they have stated that they do not want factions and sectorials left behind in the book cycles as ISS has for instance.

The changes we are guessing at, such as those that will sync better with ITS, are subtle but significant and not something I would want to see rushed.

Been working in the industry for like 4 years now, and close to it for quite a time longer, and rushed work is always super obvious and where sad faces are born
