Well as soon as I can get some Calvary bases I will have my force built. I already have all my archers and crossbowmen built.
I have a ton of the green plastic rendara cavalry bases if you want them.
I would love to play but I have to wait a few weeks. Practice for the OFCC this week and then Amon Amarth concert the following week.
Stupid OFCC! ::shakes fist::

Thanks! Someone want to play a game on Tuesday? I haven't had a chance to play on it yet.
-
I am that someone!
Awesome.
-
Someone is playing me a game of Twilight Struggle.
I also want to play some Saga on the new board, which is already down at the store.
-
On the left is a graveyard, on the right is a small group of dark age warriors. They're labeled "GRAVEYARD" and "RESERVES."
-
The ink has to dry (and the gutters will get a coat of varnish to protect the ink), but it's basically done:

Ahhhh Brad, I am sorry I can't actually play tomorrow. I was just made aware of plans I had by my girlfriend.
However miles I could still swing by and grab those spears.
Thanks for reminding me, tossing them in my bag now so I don't forget.

Well, the terrain part is essentially done. I'm just waiting for the glue to dry to add a layer of matte medium to seal it, but this is what it'll look like:

What's this, then?
It's going to be a Saga battleboard when its done. 48" across, 36" deep (because Saga is obnoxious that way) with two six inch gutters. This way we can use the smaller side tables to play Saga, rather than using half of one of the big warhammer tables.
I used my router to demarcate the gutters, and the cuts are painted gold. The gutters are, as you can kind of see, a red and black gradient -- same as the Saga rulebook covers. I've got gold silkscreen ink on the way, and I'll be silkscreening the SAGA logo on each gutter, plus a reserves area and a graveyard area. Assuming I don't screw anything up, it should look very sweet when I'm done.
I also ordered a 48" long, 3" wide river from Armorcast, because the plastic river we've got in the store looks naff and I hate it. Plus two wooden bridges (I like Sherbert's stone bridge, but it's a little too nice for the time period, and too big for a 3" river), and a little stone church.
If anyone wants to volunteer to paint the river, I'd totally appreciate it. I don't paint water so good.
Updated image, now with layer of mud and dirt:

I believe I am playing Miles, at 5:30 ish.
Probably going to be closer to 6:00ish.
-
I need 12, and oooooh
Oh, I can definitely spare 12 if you don't mind the wire ones. I've also got a million of the plastic rendara bases they come with if you need those, because I use MDF bases.
-
How many spears do you need? I can probably hook you up. Gripping Beast includes the spears and bases when you order the models as SAGA packs, but if you buy them from their regular line you have to buy the spears separately. They have lead spears and wire spears. I bought a pack of the wire spears and didn't like them, and I might even have some of the lead ones left over.
Oh, and look at what I'm making for the store:
-
I would settle for Saga instead of Fantasy, but seriously I need some fantasy.
I'll play fantasy if someone loans me an army, but I'll also bring Saga since I don't see that happening.
I have a Dark Elf army, but I don't even remember how many points it is. Around 1000. I should really get around to finishing it.
-
So...2000 points 40k? Any takers?
-
I think I'd like to play some 40k before I start forgetting the rules. I've got 2000 points of Space Marines that haven't beaten anyone (except Brad's Guardsmen, but that hardly counts) if anyone wants to win a game.
-
I will probably have some Sex Wang. I can also maybe be persuaded to do some infinity. Not feeling a game of fantasy this week. I kind of want something lighter for tomorrow.
If you bring your Saga I'll bring mine, I really want to try out the Breton board.
I'll also bring my Infinity if anyone wants a pick-up game (150 points).
-
Can someone tell Android I won't be able to make it? Something has gone screwy with my bank and I can't use any of my cards, which means I can't buy gas, which means no driving to Bellingham.
-
Cool. 2k on Tues shortly after 6 work for you?
Sounds good.
-
Anyone up for a game of 40k? Would like to try a list with a Stompa in it. Also available this Sat Aug 16th.
I will play you a game of 40k, I've always wanted to lose to a Stompa.
-
nevermind, missed the date.
-
I think I am playing Saga with Sherbert.
Dammit, that's what I'm supposed to be doing right now -- painting little horsemen!
-
Well...damn. A little early warning and I would have donated.
If she decides to relaunch, make sure to let us know in time to support it.

TSR's bankruptcy ended up being a good thing for Dungeons & Dragons in the long run, I think. If Games Workshop goes under, then the rights will get bought by someone. Hopefully someone who can do something to revitalize the game. Or, you know, maybe we'll see a lot of third party models catch on while the rights are in limbo.
Any way it works out, I think it'll be good for wargaming if GW crashes and burns.

I demand SAGA!
I will bring Saga as well, should be able to fit two games into one night pretty easily.

They were destined for the rubbish bin, so don't sweat it. I'll bring them on tuesday.
