Friendly Commissar, I'd happily play some Infinity with you! How many points would you like to play?

 

Brad, would you be up for a game later in the evening, maybe trying out what we know of 3rd ed?

I can field 148 points, so lets call it 150.

I just got these guys painted up and they are spoiling for a fight.

So hopefully someone is up for some Infinity.

I am 100% interested if it's post-September, so I can actually have time to paint some models.

If Sherbert and Wiccus are bringing Saga, so am I.

Oh man, that is totally brilliant.

I did pick up the SAGA Paint Set from Army Painter though, and it has some great colors in it.  Wool!  Bleached wool!  Nice dull greens and blues, and tanned leather!  Its the first time I've ever seen a "leather brown" that was actually the color of 99% of the leather I've ever seen (i.e. saddle brown).  Instead of that weird rawhidish color that every other leather brown is.

whelp I broke down and just ordered the rulebook and bases from Gripping Beast. Hopefully it will be here by next week. I should also be finishing my 4pt warband this week so is anyone interested in getting a game in next week. I will have Tuesday and Wednesday off. Tuesday i should use to get another practice game of fantasy in for OFCC but im free Wednesday.

So far I've finished exactly one unit of archers:

It'll be another two weeks, maybe three, before I finish 4 pts worth.

That's cool.  I think I'm playing Jim next week, but I'm sure he won't mind if we push that back.  So yeah, next week is good.

The puppy has been helping me build a fence and install a doggy door, so it's all been taking about twice as long as it should.  He's taking to housetraining pretty quickly though; he's only pooping inside at night (he's scared of the dark), so that's good.  But yeah, it's pretty much exactly like having a wild animal (complete with needle sharp fangs) living in your home.  He's a german shepard if I didn't mention it, so at 9 weeks he's already powerfully destructive.

I still haven't gotten my book because the warstore is sold out.   I have however, been building up my forces. Hopefully by the end of the week all of my elite troops will be done and some of my warriors as well. I probably wont start painting until my entire 4pt force is built.

So I finally sat down and read the rules for Saga today, and now I am really excited to play.  I haven't seen a system this elegant in design since Song of Blades and Heroes.

I'm going to have to push our game to next week.  I just got a new puppy and I'm still in the process of puppy-proofing my house, and probably won't be done by Tuesday night.

Fallen Frontiers is a squad-based sci-fi wargame that looks like the medium point between 40k and Infinity.  I'm kind of digging on the Necroslaves and the Sayx Domination.  I don't want to throw down on it if I'm never going to play it though.  Anyone else interested in giving it a try?

I'm bringing 1850 of Space Marines and would absolutely love to play against something other than Space Marines.

Oh hell yeah.  I absolutely love the Vikings TV show, and have been wanting to do something set in that world for a while.

My first impulse was to go Scots (being Scottish myself), but since Wiccus has already ordered them, I'm ordering a set of Normans + dice and rulesbook.
