  1. “Paratroopers, like professional baseball players, acquire certain superstitions,” he said. “With me I have always stuck a cigar in my mouth when about to make a jump and my men all know it. They take it for good luck.” Quoted from "D-Day: Paratrooper from Upstate New York is the first to land in France" https://www.newyorkupstate.com/binghamton/2019/06/d-day-paratrooper-from-upstate-new-york-is-the-first-to-land-in-france.html Guy was a pathfinder. Great stories

  5. NOTE: The recent change in GG store alcohol policy means that minors can participate in this tournament. I made the decision that 14+ was the appropriate age restriction for appropriate maturity and behavior in this competetive event.

  8. The sooner we get a firm date, the sooner I can start promoting this event, On our blog, on the Battlefront Events web page, on our soon-to-be-created Facebook page, and get some advertising help from our club members and partners.
  9. If you are buying the BF sculpted bases then the only things u might get from the images are colors of boxes and shells. But if you are custom modeling tokens/markers and bits for your bases, then these images are very useful for shapes, relative sizes and markings, if you get to that level of detail. The containers that are the least frequently photographed are the boxes and container inserts for infantry munitions (panzerfausts, hand grenades, panzerknacker boxes, boxes for panzerschreck rockets, etc.). The more I paint and model, the more I feel the need to challenge myself to get the details correct. That's just for me. If no one else cares, no matter. Maybe someday I can win a painting award. But then again, if I never do, I'll be okay.
  10. Found this website that sells scale models. I was looking for images of ammo and ammo boxes. 11. With the American Para's being more aggressive than the German Heer Infantry in Normandy, I would tweak the mission by changing "DEFENDER GOES FIRST" to read "ATTACKER GOES FIRST", before changing anything else. If that was not enough to re-balance the mission, then step 2 would be to not pin the paras. But I think that the first change would fix the pinned condition, for most American units.
