  1. For Thursday, AUG 22, the default theme is: August 16-31 -- Flames of War -- Late War -- Eastern Front I will be bringing Germans and Russians from "Fortress Europe" LATE WAR Western Front/D-Day American: If someone would rather do American vs. Germans, my German lists should suffice.
  2. RE: 21st Panzer Division. Looks like there is hope for this formation: http://www.breakthroughassault.co.uk/d-day-german-forces-oberbefehlshaber-west/ "21st Panzer is not present in this book. Fear not though as we have received a note stating that they will be available later on as an official online force with cards" http://www.breakthroughassault.co.uk/d-day-german-forces-too-hot-or-not/ "Well not to stress the point too much more the lack of anything for the 21st Panzer Division was a disappointment until I got to the bottom of the briefing doc and saw the last paragraph stating there would be an additional release of profiles just for the 21st..."

  4. There might yet be time for you to lobby your connections at BF to get beutepanzer units into command cards in time for the release of the German SS book in Spring of 2020. Although beutepanzer units were not 'SS', they were specialized. Another option is here: "Community Unit Cards" https://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=109&art_id=6088 I would like to see beutepanzer units hit the table and be supported, even if only for casual play.
  5. I feel ur pain: Bad news and good news: Bad news is that Battlefront has this statement for most of the 21st Panzer specialty models: "This product is no longer currently available for sale" My assumption therefore is that in the "D-Day German" Command Card pack there probably will NOT be a command card for 21st Pz Div. Good news is that if someone is still playing 21st Pz Div (in Normandy) in Flames of War 3rd Edition, there are still suppliers for most of the models: Old Glory and QRF (see this thread: "Beckers Funnies and 4th Edition")
  6. I don't have a detailed preview of "D-Day German", yet (the guys over at NDNG are writing their articles), but it seems that "Becker's Funnies" in 21st Panzer Divison will probably not appear in FoW 4th Ed. (lament for Fingolfen's fine modeling work) All of the Battlefront articles that cover these unique conversions have this blurb "This product is no longer currently available for sale" That being said, if someone is nostalgic, and they are still playing Flames of War 3rd Edition, they can use (or build) 21st Pz Div in Normandy. There are still suppliers for most of the models: Old Glory and QRF (see below) The BF articles are also still online. Here is the result of my research: BF Articles on 21st Pz Division in 1944: 21. 21. For THU, July 25th, my plan is same as last week: Bring Team Yankee (US and SOV), and maybe borrow Ami's and Germs if no Team Yankee game.
  22. BTW, Soulder3 had a question about how do we use the wire obstacle markes? ANS: Same as the minefield markers: 2" radius from the edge of the marker token. This means that your 2"x8" rectangular minefield terrain will not be compatible with Late-War v4. To replace these, I plan on building rectangular 2"x5" barbed wire models glued onto painted compact discs. The rectangular part is for the 3D visual/modeling presentation, while the base disc represents the rules/functional area of the wire. I think that 2"x8" rectangular minefield terrain might still be compatible with Great War and FOAN, but I will have to check those rule books to be certain.
  23. The Guys at NoDiceNoGlory explain the points somewhat differently: " Another aspect of this mission is a different force point approach. IF the attacker has 150 points to spend the defender only gets 75 (meaning 1/2) and then has 48 points of fortifications + 6 minefields and + 6 barb wire sections. " As I pointed out in the first part of this thread, we should have some practice sessions before including a larger group of players. I also stated " Making the German side interesting takes practice and scenario-building " It may be that after playtesting, we decide to create scenarios that have most of the elements of the book missions, but are modified for balance and player engagement, based on our lessons in the playtesting. I am also looking at the v3 Books for ideas and adaptations of scenarios and missions: Normandy Battles Bloody Omaha Atlantik Wall
