  1. I have Italians that could be used as Early War and of course, Germans and Japanese.  My Japanese didn't do well in the last tournament I went to...  On the other hand, Japan is awesome sauce.  On the other hand...Delayed Reserves stinks.  On the other hand, Japan is awesome sauce....  But then tanks are a thing in early war...  On the other hand, Japan is Awesome Sauce....

Seems like my only argument FOR Japan is the power of...awesome?

Personally I think the japanese are the best nation early war.  Night attacking infantry with nikuhaku teams, spearheading before the first turn, while your opponent has delayed reserves?  Sounds like a winning combination to me!

  2. Hi guys,

it is really unfortunate, but it seems I wont be able to come to the tournament.

I have checked all possibilities and during the weekends is bus/train transportation so bad, I cant even get to Tacoma to get picked during the morning by Noland. Also big thanks to Mike to offer me accommodation in his house.

Only way is, if someone from Seattle/Bellevue would pick me up, so we can do round trip...which is not likely...

    Sorry,

Sad, yeah we don't have the best public transportation here in the United States.  Was great to get to know you though!

  3. Zeke had an interesting idea, in that every player gets to control one token, and then all the remaining firestorm units will just roll off if they are not facing a player controlled force.  I think it would add a lot of flavor to our battles as we'll be following our one company across the forests of the Loraine.

    Thoughts?

  4. With the release of the Bulge compilations I noticed they've put out a Firestorm: Lorianne Mini-Campaign.  I know we had talked about doing Bulge battles this winter (I.e. post Tanksgiving) and was wondering if we were interested in doing this campaign.  I know the Normandy campaign went a little too long and people lost interest, but I think that if we keep things moving we could have a lot of fun.

    Anyways, thoughts, ideas?

  5. Z.

    ok

    Thx.

If no one shows for a while, I hang around until 7. If still no one for FoW, then I leave.

I'm negotiating my appearance tonight with the wife.  I'm about 75% positive I'll be there, and if I won't be there I'll post here.  Planning on bringing my 1550pt LW list.

  6. I like 15mm for infantry and 1/285th for tanks. 6mm infantry just don't do it for me, and 15mm tanks are easy and affordable enough to crank out in volume (I have somewhere around 28 Panthers painted). Terrain is where the real issue is I think. A 6x4 table with 15mm miniatures and an attempt at realistic density of terrain for a western European or German battlefield makes for looooong game and a big financial output. The playing space of a 6x4 for 6mm miniatures is much more pleasing to my eye aesthetically and realistically.

I think that the argument the GHQ guy made was odd. It would be interesting to know the motivations behind it. I think he's proud but I don't think he was putting Battlefront down too harshly either.

That's interesting, because it felt to me like a very harsh attack on 15mm wargames and wargamers.  I think Fingolfen's analysis breaks it down pretty well.

  7. If ZM does not adopt everything, I might be interested in the orphans.

I'm picking up everything this Friday, and then I'll bring any leftovers to you the following Thursday.  Although the plan is to give it all to a friend of mine who's been wanting to pick up Flames of War.
