  1. Well looks like salvo weapons are gone, which is ok for me since most of the salvo weapons you saw on the table were grav. Also, I wonder if they will have a rule where you can only charge in the assault phase if you haven't used a heavy, rapid fire, etc. ranged weapon, since being able to rapid fire a unit and then charge them is kinda nuts. Would make sense that you can only charge if you shoot with assault weapons in the shooting phase, like now.

  2. An interesting thing there (barring vehicle specific rules) is that when the model suffers it's last wound then it is "slain or destroyed and removed from play". Therefore, when vehicles/walkers are reduced to 0 wounds they are removed from the table so no more having your vehicles sitting as piles or wreckage on the tabletop to provide cover. So I guess if a marine squad has their rhino popped they are truly out in the open and can't pile out and hide behind their wrecked rhino. Kinda mixed on that since many a time I've been able to hide my Grey Hunter squads behind the wreck of their transport in an attempt to preserve them since they couldn't charge the next turn. On the other hand that kinda cluttered up the board in 7th and not having so many extra terrain pieces may just make play easier.

  3. Unless your Swiftclaws are WS and BS 3. That's one thing that I hope they change as SW are the only Marine faction with marines that have WS and BS 3 after the scout change back when. I know it has fluffy reasons but it makes Bloodclaw variants nothing more than backfield objective holders.

  4. Although I see we've moved onto Nids and their fun new toys, I wanted to comment on how I really love the changes to the transports and how I hope they tweak them still. As a SW player I always hated as a cc focused army having to wait a turn to charge once I got out of my rhinos. I would maybe make it in with 2/3rds of a squad (considering my rolling) and never feel that I could bring my full cc potential to bear. Now that I don't have to wait an entire turn before charging I feel so much more empowered to send my Wolves howling in instead of having to eat a whole turn of shooting and then overwatch. Also, another change I hope they make is so that if you have your non-open topped transport wrecked the squad inside can charge now whereas they couldn't before. I can't remember how many times my Grey Hunters have had to sit there while the enemy is right there and not be able to charge because, "Well we lost out transport last turn, so oh well". Finally, not having to risk your transports blowing up with one lucky shot and taking some key guys in your squad with it will be a welcome change.

I have another Norman horseman for you, assembled and ready for play.  If you want to try out a second job unit cav, you better get to work assembling the rest of your knights.

Nice, thanks Shawn. I'll be pretty busy the next couple of days, but I'll see what I can do.

  6. Hey everyone, my brother and I were playing a game the other day where my Daemonettes won in close combat against his Dreadknight. He then failed his morale check and lost the initiative roll off. Now, I know that SM units have ATSKNF, but for other factions who have monstrous creatures without this special rule, can a monstrous creature be overrun and removed in close combat. I looked through the BRB and FAQ and couldn't find an answer. If someone knows the rules involved for this issues if you could post them here that'd be great. It's not something that happens in my games often, but it's been intriguing to me ever since we bumped into the question. Thanks all.

  7. Hey Shawn, I still have my bases and dice coming and the only models I have put together are my warlord and a unit of Hearthguard. It may have to wait until the 16th until I have at least a 4pt warband ready. However, if you wanted to play with some of your other models we could get another practice game in for me.

40k! fyi I took my blood bowl home, Garrett called the league a bust... also, I got really excited about malifaux again after the weekend. It really itches my need for a game with super unique models/ pieces, without all that mucking about with experience tracking and getting games with a decent number of different people and trying to keep the number of games fair.

I have a two player starter demo kit for malifaux :) and I'll be going to Canada in July for the wet coast gt and getting some massive malifaux in. Would love some local practice and I have tons of loaner stuff...

Well that sucks. I was looking forward to keep going with that. I'll be there for 40k with you Corey around 6 tonight and we can have some fun. Maybe I'll try Saga with Shaun next week to mix things up.

Anyone else interested in an 1850 game then?  Or maybe Blood Bowl (I don't even know if its too late for that).

Hey Miles, I've already got a 40k game lined up for tonight with Tucker. However, if you want to lock in next week I would love to play your bugs since I haven't played Nids in ages. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

  10. Welcome David,

I'm playing mostly 40k and Blood Bowl these days. My 40k armies are Space Wolves and Chaos Daemons, so if you want to set up any games for Tuesdays check out the Game Night forum and look for the Bellingham Game Night post. I'll be around Tuesday night if you're looking for a game.
