Any chance I can just start with this guy as the Warlord? I'd be willing to take a penalty elsewhere (like in not having a Retinue for my Warlord) and/or some other overall army penalty for exceeding the normal character limit.

The previously discussed ban on gigantic characters was never added. And within a normal 2k game (not our modified point level), miser would fit. Plus, this means I only have a Wizard Apprentice....a nerfed DL magic phase for the first few games seems like a pretty reasonably trade off.

 

Mainly, it would just make building the army a lot more simple, since I can just keep playing the same character every time. Plus the model looks really good, I think.

As a player I think this fair. No retinue the first game to get enough points for a bare naked big guy.this first scenario is going to be a big Rock Paper Scissors situation for the most part anyways.

edit: another option is the warlord could miss out on the first buff since he’s already over points

I have to take a Pharaoh to be terracotta but I’m ok with that. A nomarch is crap and a pharaoh is worth the points.

I haven’t decide on my retinue. The spear men seem a good choice but the cavalry would turn out nice later with some campaign buffs. Especially when they are so cheap after the first 10(+11model +1terrcotta) a unit of 24 with full cmd is only 422. Give them a character with the magic steed and a banner of speed and they become 9adv 22 marching with ghost step.

Pretty sure this scenario was made for my undead army. We’ll see how the next ones go though. Shame no one is playing dwarves they’d own this scenario.

Got some serious painting done this week. Need to do some serious basing soon too.

I’m going to be incapacitated this next weekend but another time for sure. Me and the Beninator both live in SE. we meet at GG or red castle when we aren’t playing with the Couve crowd.

Even if it works out that you can TRY to get most people to have half their games against new opponents it'd be awesome. Don't think it'll be that hard to do but don't stress about it.

Can't wait for OFCC I already took the time off work for it.

I am in as well of course. I think I can talk my roommate into it, but he does not have an army. Anyone have high elves they can loan him (that is what he played in 8th ed)? Otherwise he will prob just play my dwarves.

I have plenty (250+models)of high elves (5th,6th ed) if your roommate doesn't mind building a list with my leftovers and unpainted/assembled. I can slap some glue on ones he wants to use if needed.
