PourSpelur
Just for fun, what's your ideal 2k list maxing out on Thunder Wolves and Lone Wolves?
Threejacks
The Wolves are new to me so im still planning my first (allied) lists for my AM. Im considering getting some TWC though..whats the best size unit to run them at?...I know from Nob Biker experience that just running 3 equals waste of points as they will get blown off the board quick time. I also love the idea of the Lone Wolves but is it worth it to spend 50+ points to Deep strike one Terminator?..or it better to just run them with a couple dogs and walk on? pretre
Take the big damn heroes detachment from Champs of Fenris. Take 5 TWC plus 2 SS, WC and PF. 275 As many of those as you can. iron priests with 2 cyber wolves and tw mount 135 each. These fill your requirements. Harald 190 Battle leaders or wolf lords on TWM as needed (Don't forget the excellent relics here) Full TWC army. :)

TWC as a distraction or a threat? Distraction: 1-3 bare or minimal gear. Threat: 4-5 plus lord and iron priests. 1/2 storm shields and at least one PF. I like the claw for the character so he can fight challenges.
busbina
Lone wolves are great. Give'em a TH/storm shield and send em out to hit a tank. At the least he'll get killed by a wave serpent in one turn. Just think of it as paying 55 points to make a wave serpent not shoot for a turn and he might actually do something useful too. WestRider
Maxing out on both TWC and Lone Wolves at the same time is sort of problematic, because you need Troops or Wolf Guard to unlock the Lone Wolves, which are going to cut heavily into your space for TWC. I'll poke at this for a bit, see if I can find a good LW spam list, or a balance between them.
WestRider
Alright, here's one going for Lone Wolves. Basically just trying to get up in their face really fast and overwhelm target priority. EDIT: This is at 2K. Various ways to scale it down. And yes, it has issues with Purge the Alien. Wolf Lord, Terminator Armour, Storm Shield, Black DeathRune Priest, Terminator Armour, Storm Bolter, Lvl 23x5 Blood Claws, Flamer, Drop Pod2x5 Grey Hunters, Meltagun, WG w/Combi-Melta, Drop Pod, Locator Beacon5 Grey Hunters, Meltagun, Drop Pod5 Wolf Guard, 5xCombi-Melta8xLone Wolf, Terminator Armour, TH/SSArjac Rockfist5 Void Claw WG Terminators Arjac Joins the Void Claws* to tank for them. Possibly the other ICs as well, or they (especially the Wolf Lord) may drop on their own. The two GH Pods with Locator Beacons are always in the first wave, along with two more, either more Melta if there are lots of available Tanks/Transports, or Blood Claws if there's Infantry to light up. Second Turn, I should have re-rolls on the Reserves for the 8 Lone Wolves, the other three Pods, and the ICs who didn't Join another Unit. Most or all of that is hopefully going to be landing in Locator Beacon range. Turn 3, I start really punching people in the face. Ideally, the list goes second, to make the Opponent waste a Turn of shooting on an empty board, and get the last chance at Objectives. There are 12 low-threat Objective Secured Units, plus 8 Units that can never Score, but are a significant threat to a lot of things, and a fair pain to drop. And then the rest of the Army :D *They're a Formation from Champions of Fenris. 5+ Terminators with Wolf Claws. They Deep Strike Turn 1, can re-roll the Scatter, and as long as at least one of them is on the table, I can re-roll Reserves Rolls.
PourSpelur
Any reason you went Thunder Hammer over Chainfist? I mean giant hammers are cool and all but they've got nothing, aesthetically speaking, over CHAINSAW- FISTS!
pretre
Any reason you went Thunder Hammer over Chainfist? I mean giant hammers are cool and all but they've got nothing, aesthetically speaking, over CHAINSAW- FISTS! You can't do SS/CF anymore. You swap your storm bolter for either a combi, claw or TH. You swap your power weapon for all the other stuff.
