  2. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH. The silent auction is over. Winners will be notified shortly. If we don't notify you then we still want you to know that you helped and we appreciate you also. Please bring cash, not checks or credit, to claim your goodies tomorrow and to pay your entry fees!! That will make getting Fluger some cash money much much faster and less messy!

  3. Tomorrow is the big day. Some things to know:

1: Bring a printed list for every opponent. Never know when the internet isn't going to work. It's just courtesy.

2: If you are facing the Game Matrix, you can drive to the right and around to the back of the building. Please park there. Lots of slots there. Thank you for that ahead of time. We should get the doors open at 10:00, and we will do a short briefing, and then off to your tables with you.

3: As this is a friendly event, I am going to be setting up the matchups and if you traveled with or always play the person you are matched up with, LET ME KNOW and I will happily fix it for ya. I'm going to do it tonight to maximize the time you have to tell me so that I can make the game day smooth and wrinkle free. We want maximum fun for you all. THE FIRST MISSION is a Main Rulebook mission. Be on time to find out which one! I'm looking forward to seeing you all.

I did try using a deceiver to delivery a monolith forward and deliver troops turn 1 too...was kinda fun stealing a relic objective, but wanted my 225pts back, deceiver was 'ok'. Was fun to snipe with the ctan meteor using close model control.

The decievr trick is too prone to rolling crappy on the number of units.  I do LOVE the deceiver though.  Boy was he fun in 5th.

That doesn't seem overpowered or too durable, monoliths just aren't worth the 320 points. People can just ignore them. They're a 12 shot heavy bolter with 6 rocket shot. At Knight level costs they have more power than that. The smart thing is to just ignore the monoliths and finish everything else off.

Yet...   it wins.  And its a simple list to run.  Mephrit Dynasty for the win!!!

I am certain beyond all doubt that there are tougher options.  58 poxwalkers and such.  But I like the toughness of these Necrons.  Its not that easy to handle.  More mobile than it looks also.

What about necrons? Could just spam monoliths and obelisks....plus FW has some other options. Dunno if they're durable this edition.

I do run a list like that.  2 Monoliths, 1 Obelisk, Doomsday Ark, 3 Crypteks, 19 immortals, 8 deathmarks, and an Anihilation Barge.

Anyone from Portland want to carpool up there on Saturday?

gracious offer.  Hope somepeoples take you up on it.  Road trips are always fun with more people!  There are definitely some people from that area coming.

  8. My friend Owen played his FIRST FULL GAME of Warhammer 40,000, and he used this army to do it.  He went up against the forces of the Deathguard and their Fire Raptor attachment.

The game was brief.  Owen essentially forced his opponent to capitulate in round 3.  The Mortar tank, Typhus and some Plaguey Terminators were the only thing left to fight and there was far too much territory to cover for them to impact the game at that point.  Owen had spread out and pushed the field enough that Typhus had limited options for coming in and they were all pretty much bad.

    So 3 cheers for Owen!

  9. Hooray, we filled up the two slots that had been vacated.  Stay tuned as we may have one more, due to failure to turn their list in.  I'll announce it here or you can keep tabs on it at the Registration link above.
