Another Battle Report with pictures, this time Red Corsairs. Interesting army. Hadn't seen it played before. There is an easter egg in this one. Did you figure out the answer to the question?
Final score: 32-14

Did they FAQ this to be VEHICLE? The book I have reads BATTLESUIT for Repair Protocol. If so, makes the SS substantially better.
I had in my head that you were speaking of Repair Protocols, apologies for not reading well, lol. Anyway, same deal I think saviour Protocols is INFANTRY and BATTLESUIT only. Otherwise you could use shield drones for Longstrike, no?
Automated Repair Systems has ALWAYS worked on vehicles. It can actually be used at the beginning of both your turn and the opponents by FAQ.
A Stormsurge is one. So...
Point Defense Targetting Relay works on him also.

On the other hand, the stormsurge's giant base means a bigger area of effect for a drone controller.
Yup. Never leave the drone controller out your list

Don't think the repair works for a StormSurge, either. The stratagem says Battlesuit.
It works. Vehicle keyword.

Repair stratagem works though.

Riptide is pretty standard as long as youre not spamming it. Ones fine. And I dont think T'au are difficult to build fun lists for at all. So you should be able to come up with fun effective versions.

I can set the scene...
I was chatting with @fluger at his fundraiser, asked him if people suggested B.S. remedies (like Dandelion Tea) to him as a magic cure-all, or just how many books, movies, or podcast recommendations he got to fill his no-doubt copious free time between treatments.
Fluger replied noting all the good things which our community has done for him, the warmth and the support which might have brought a little manly moisture to his eyes from feeling all the love.
So I asked Fluger, "How would you like to feel some hate for a change of pace?"
Caught a little off guard, Fluger inquired to what I had in mind.
Then I pulled these beauties out of my gaming bag...
The fundraiser was to have whoever bid the highest get to choose who must drink one bottle, while the unlucky designee got to choose the other individual to drink the other bottle.
Because while we are all altruistic, noble individuals of good heart who want to do well for our fellow gamer, we also (being gamers) delight in screwing any opponents over.
Fluger thought it was a hilarious idea and when I made the announcement we had two designated drinkers and another $135 in cash soon after.
@Lord Hanaur, cue the video.

I talked to him, he figured he could drop 1 stormsurge for battle suits he got from the starter sets. Meaning list has 1 riptide and 1 surge.
Thoughts?
It's fine that way, I think.
Crisis Teams are pretty normal fare for any T'au force. A Stingwing unit would be super awesome though. Hehehe.

Riptides, really should be LOWs for TAU.
No. Lol.

The Shield Drones are probably better as less units.
Two StormSurges AND a Riptide seems kinda mean for a friendly event. But the event has changed so I speak only in generalities on that one. I'd drop one. Theres a lot you can do with those points.

I suspect they'll be kind of similar in that regard to the Skitarii Vanguard/Rangers. Each set of body/legs/tabard will probably be fixed, but then most or all of the heads and arms will work with most of the bodies.
Well the heads thing is handy. Thats for sure.
-
Yeah they don't look much different at all.the weapons they are carrying look a little cooler...a little. I like the INquisition logo on there. I like the Flamer front.
But not a big departure. I'm also not seeing necessarily how much more customizable their poses will be? The heads might be a big bonus if they give you more of the helmet heads or something.

Hopefully she spilled the beans where she found the shirt.
I know a handful of attendees were asking where she got it.

I would like to add to Yarb's comments and say I was very happy to be there, hang with Fluger, play some great games, and meet some new people.
@Lord Hanaur I did very much enjoy you running the tournament. Having never used BCP before as a player or host, you showed me how simple and effective it could be. Thanks for organizing it all and making it all so casual and easy.
I want to give a shout out to my opponents, Nathan and Saul. Nathan gave a great game with his Orks and I was super happy to have such a great opponent round 1. Round two against @PumpkinHead's Nids was classic 40K. Thank you both for indulging me in activating my Fluger Command Points and using the "Bidding War" stratagem to make the games just that much more fun.
@fluger Wish you the best!
Saul's shirt was awesome. I got a chance to compliment his wife for getting it for him.

Thanks.
Drop Pods aren't great. But Space Marines can be really good and they place highly a lot. I think that Space Marines have more tools than anyone. It's just getting the right toolbag for the meta. Ultramarines and Dark Angels have both done really well, at differing events. I also see a lot of deathwatch armies do some scary stuff.
Thanks for being a part of it all. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Death Guard are obnoxiously resilient. They're cheap enough that you can field lots of them, they're high toughness, they all have a 5+ FNP. They just. Don't. Freakin'. Die. If you like painting boils and pustules, bonus for that. They're also pretty readily accessible from Dark Imperium, et al.
The Cloud of Flies Stratagem for Deathgaurd is suuuuuh good too.

Traffic warning. Give yourself an extra 45 minutes to arrive. I-5 is closed off at exit 123 and 124. It's an issue. Make sure to leave early, or detour

The auction has ended. It was an unqualified success. We will ask you to bring your cash in tomorrow to collect your goodies. We will post our final results after that is done.
Again thank you to Saul Kirkman, Seth, Cole, Warlord Games, and Mr. Polumbi for their INCREDIBLE generosity in their donations. Also want to thank the Minnesota Vikings who I also contacted about it. SKOL. My sister prepared something cool for Fluger so thanks to Brandy and my niece Stephanie for working to make it special. My daughter Jaclyn ran the tracking of the Silent Auction and I want to thank her for her help.
Lastly, thank you to all the players and those who took time to drop a bid on something, or just are giving on the GoFundMe page. It's collectively an effort by the entire community to let Nathan Fluger know that God has softened hearts for him and made this possible.
Great job, every one of you. 🙂
