  1. What do you mean for this?  I think the major problem is more thinking of an idea for story encounters then having an idea of what kind of model would work good for that. I'm going to brain storm with Jamie Stockdale, Mark Handford and Todd McNeal (who will be doing the sculpting) and see if we can come up with some story encounters that would create the narrative that we've become accustomed to at Walpurgis and go from there.

Had a loose idea for an Oregon trail Type narrative. Use the shindig rules in the first mission. The big model was gonna be a sasquatch all encrusted with soul stones. That was where it kinda broke down I don't have the same connections or pull Jim does. I had a guy working sculpting but he does not feel like he will have enough time to finish a sculpt he will be happy with. Also I can't write narratives and the volunteer I had four that has not been in good contact. I was actually going to reach out to you about my difficulties and now you are all excited and seem to have the resources.

Pm'd you my treatment use it or not your call.

  2. Go for it Dan. I believe we had 40 ish last year.

As for the sculptor that was part of the difficulty neither of us are happy with what we are accomplishing in a time frame appropriate for casting. Originally Ray was willing to cast but I haven't contacted him recently about it. I don't even want another Fate deck so I was at a loss for that. Enjoy my whole lot of nothing but empty ideas :)

  3. Yes I am currently wrestling with my feeling regarding this. I have found myself very disappojnted in the fact that version two is not finalized yet. I'm frustrated to the point that my cons in continueing far out weigh the pros of moving forward.

As of this moment i'm feeling I won't be moving forward I have no passion left for this game and the local lack of enthusiasm has left me unwilling to devote my hobby time to this project.

I'm also very scepticle of my business acumen and lack of skill set that mister Graham has in order to proceed successfully. There are other local projects that feel warrant more of our attention. I could be swayed but I'm far from wanting to continue on to the commitment of resources step.

  4. Hello there,

Okay, please email me at work (dalmer@cob.org) and give me your name or address and I'll look up the case personally and see what's what.

One of our unit guys is awesome at checking pawn stuff and I can talk with the guys/gals on the force and get the word out to look for your stuff.

On the topic of firearm safety, I'm a state-certified handgun instructor and would happily volunteer my time to show you folks and spouses / GFs / BFs / kids handgun safety.  I can even supply the weapon systems... I used to do it all the time for folks when I was range officer.  Holler if this sounds like what you want.

    Stay safe,

    don

I've been considering obtaining a fire arm. Wife and I like to walk trails and and we were interested in going further abroad. I'm thinking I want something for wild animal protection.

What is the class size cuz I'd love to get some lessons too maybe pick toupee brain for recommendations.

  5. Btw the Malifaux reference. The main objective is flipped for randomly and both players know it, you then randomly generate 4 (plus a fixed scheme) to generate the pool of possible secret schemes, then pick crews, declare crews, pick schemes, deploy, declare schemes.

It is important to note that the secret schemes thing needs to be a large list with some random selections. Version one was just a decent sized list and it devolved down to people writing lists to best do certain schemes. More experienced players knew it while it created a larger barrier of entry.

This whole forging the narrative feels like GW is driving people back to the garage. The big clubs we have developed will suffer if this trend continues. Also it is hard to build community when the definition of an army keeps changing. Tricky gw increasing the collection to take into Account these narrative styles... Tricky indeed!

  6. I like forcing grounding checks on flying monstrous creatures. The stalker will not kill things well but it keeps them honest. 75 points and mobility is cheaper than an aegis line and the tank can fire itself so doesn't require a baby sitter...

Course I use a pod spam army :)

  7. I don't think the argument has ever been whether it passes to the unit or not, as clearly it does. The sticking point is the order of operations during game setup, but you already know that.

Infiltrate also grants The ability to outflank. That was what I always thought the reason for the sharing was. Outflank really is the follow me you loud idiots! The character uses their skills and the sound of the battle to cover an approach from an unseen avenue.

The infiltrate usr is just a little more flexible than outflank.

  8. As some one that fields dreads extremely regularly the tips above are good. Venerable really shines for the bs/ws upgrade and remember this when selecting their weapons. Ironclads are still really good. Either way I look at them to add weapons you don't have elsewhere in the army they are pretty reasonably priced chassis with lots of choices and can go in a pod. This is their niche you want a big bad heavy weapon right on top of the enemy? Send a dread, want a long range shooty piece? There are better choices.

As to actual armaments I enjoy multimeltas and assault cannons on venerable along with heavy flamers if I have the points. They die easy so I don't pack to much in. These are a little more resistant to single shot kills but get hull pointed regularly.

Iron clads are more resistant to getting hull pointed but suffer to big single shot kill weapons. I have yet to face "D" weapons nor would I choose to outside of apoc.
