I was dead wrong about the size issue and my incoming 4.5" Mortis Leviathan will be a Dreadknight after all.

These things are why I took to advertising our monthly events as garage hammer in a store. I think the raffle idea is gonna work to help promote the way we wanna play around these parts. Come out and participate play games it is the only way to get better so you can sand bag those who abuse things,just try to avoid giving them full points and know that you took their one thing away from them. Relish in their pain like a dark eldar... Kay this took a turn to the ranty side of things but was fun! :)

I may have been overzealous about the Leviathan size issue. I thought the big guys were 12". They are actually 8.5". Since the real Knights will be about 6.5", and the 15mm Leviathan is 4.5", it's about the same difference. You have to pick too big or too small (although a tall base can make up for too small.) 

 

The GW Knights look way better to my eyes, but the Dreamforge Leviathans are all on sale until the end of the week. Hmmm...

The posability of the dreamforge ones are amazing, metal screws for the major joints means great tension allowing you to keep playing with the pose for a bit before gluing it down. I'm interested in how posable the gw ones are...

He doesn't need to fix his bases because under flying monstrous creatures and swooping it says to pick a spot on the base to be the front for purposes of the 90 degrees you only have to remain consistent so using the rules he could state the long side is the spot any way. I like it; means he has a harder time landing between things... Pros and cons gentlemen pros and cons.

I'm going to save my weekend (day) away and coordinate with intrizic to invade in style at a later date.

I already have two 15mm and i'm waiting on the. Mortis in 15mm. I'm also really excited for the apc and other stuff after my knee jerk response I realized I'm just excited to be a part of what he has done the kits are phenomenal.

I was a little miffed for a sec but the mortis isn't as discounted and the arms are still more so I still made out doing the kickstarter...

Yeah for the monthly events I've pretty much decided no more than two codexes keeping in mind that the expansion codexes count (for example sentinels of terra with Ultra marines counts as two).

Well I wasn't too stoked about flyers but those actually worked out pretty decent so i'm dubiously optimistic. The game is going more garage in my opinion which makes big events tough but I love it for the most part. I see the community fracturing into smaller groups for play but the game itself is wonderfully fun I'm actually very energized on 40k more so than malifaux...

See you tonight I'll be aiming to be there 5:30 but it will be a little tight as I work till 5 now...

So you are telling me you don't want to be able to shoot my big fancy toys? Good thing you aren't my target audience for gaming. I use the 15mm for dread knights these knight things have got to be bigger and i'm not gonna fork out for GW I don't like their atheistic from the pictures...28mm leviathans for the win! Besides if I'm even getting a game in with them it will be with prior conversations, I'd never just roll up to a game and expect my oppenent to be ready for any kind of super heavy.

Yeah Duncan and I got excited. Btw the marine book says that you treat the different chapters as battle brothers... Either way based on Duncan stepping up we have no worries.

Duncan if you are playing blood angles we are golden! I was actually thinking some noise marines this time around ignores cover for the win!

Do different marine chapters count as different codexes for this? I'll toss either pods (prolly clan raukaan for dreads at this level) or chaos heavy on the heavies...

I am throwing all my ire at GW on this not the player. Players are going to game the system, it's in our nature. It's up to the game designer to make their system as solid as they can.

 

No system can do what a good community can, learn the game well and play to have fun not just win. Quit bitchin about what others do with a system and love what gw has done; given a game that has major mass appeal.

 

None of us would know each other with out GW.
