If I pick ups a Pale Rider model between now and then, I will pull out one Rifleman and the Convict Gunslinger.

  2. Man, I remember when Lynch's film came out.  My High School friends and I stayed for two showings the first time and I think we saw it 4 times total.  Just so visually stunning and completely unlike anything else at the time.  I do think it lacks real coherency, though.

  3. Unfortunately there's not too many places left to play in Seattle Yarb. Bunker closed down and G&G moved miniature games to Tuesday (and it's crowded). Card Kingdom has a regular group. Otherwise we play at someone's house.

Le Sadness.  Try to keep me in the loop!  My garage is always available, too.

  4. Hey, strangers!  Long time no see.  I haven’t done ANY gaming since Malifaux Foodhammer and, frankly, 2014 has completely sucked.  It all culminated in a trip to the hospital with a possible heart attack (thankfully it wasn’t).  I am still recovering.  Classes started up again yesterday and I have been able to teach with a nap soon after (I am also just plain getting old).

I figured it was about time to check back in and hopefully stick around.  I am hoping to make it to Walpurgis (if there are still tickets) but that is a bit up in the air.  I am also working (slowly) on my Imperial Fists and Lizardmen.

    So, what have I missed?

  5. Solomon Kane 5/10

Man, was I let down. On it's own merit, the movie was worth a Netflix watch. As a Solomon Kane film ... the movie was sadsville. Gone was the brooding, stoic Solomon Kane of the books, the one infused with a grim determination that was nearly supernatural. Instead, we got one of the most angst-ridden and emotional characters I've seen. I get that they were trying to do an origin story, but I'd rather they portray Kane as he was in the books. The movie took place, apparently, before he was the Kane we know and love. This Kane gave up at the slightest hint of failure, and was all whiny about killing people. Plus, not enough pistols.

I am not particularly familiar with the source so I probably enjoyed it more.  Mostly I was struck by the fact that NO ONE ELSE MAKES MOVIES EVEN REMOTELY LIKE THIS!  That alone is worth some points.
