Oops, Tuesday you say? Well hell... they both start with a T and end in day. I guess hooked on phonics did not work for me!

So I’ve been by GG on multiple Thursdays nights now and no AOS in sight! Is this still an event? I’m guessing not.

Games looked cool yesterday. Thanks for letting me hang out and ask questions.

The usual group is about 4-6 guys, and we try to meet once a month (it's all older guys with jobs and families). The next one is probably going to be Sunday the 25th, though it might end up being the 24th.
When do you think the next Saga day will be? Saturday the 24th or Sunday the 25th? What times do you normally gather? I’m looking forward to seeing some games played.

Norrad, you don't need the C&C rulebook. The rules for mounted troops can be found on page 39 of the SAGA 2.0 rulebook.
Ahh, I missed that when I was skimming. Thanks

I will stop by and watch but I have to go to work. Besides it wouldn’t do any good for me to play since I can’t seem to figure this damn game out!

I got my the 2.0 rulebook plus Aetius and Arthur supplement yesterday. I’ve only had a chance to skim the rules but I’m a bit disappointed at this point. I realize that Aetius and Arthur required the main rule book or Crescent and Cross to use it but it appears that you have to have Crescent and cross for the cavalry rules. Is there any way to get the cavalry rules without buying another book?

How many do you need?

Footsore Miniatures and Gripping Beast sell the best miniatures for this period.
If you had a choice between Gripping Beast and Footsore which would you choose? Also it appears that both manufacturers have army bundles. Any reason to not look at these?
On another note, I ordered my books - Saga Rulebook v2, Viking Supplement, and Aetius & Arthur book.

I take it this is not a noob friendly event since your practicing for a tourney? Not that you are not friendly just not the ideal time to learn how to play.
-
Anyone going on Tursday for this event?
-
Does anyone play Saga locally in PDX area during the week or weekends?
-
How would you say Gripping Beast minis compare to Footsore minis? Are they comparable in size, detail and scale. Would they look good together say in a unit? Some manufacturers have a different scale measurement or the figs have huge heads or tiny feet!

Thanks for the reply. Any recommendations on where to buy the books from? Any US distributors?

I’m interested in getting into Saga especially with the Aetius and Arthur supplement. What are your thoughts on where to start? Does the Arthur book work with the others? About how many figures would be a good start and is there a recommendation on manufacturers? Thanks

I was planning on it. Did anything change?

I will try and stop by but we’ll have to see how tired my arms are. I fly back from Amsterdam late Friday. Hope to see everyone.

I wish more companies made ad frames holding on the sides of buildings.
I wish Chris from Top Down Terrain would finish his ad frames and get them for sale. He had them on his table at OFCC. They were really cool with both free standing and building mounted designs. I know I would pick up a bunch!

So, how do you all pick?
I don’t... well at the beginning I went with what I thought looked cool and was the least represented in the gaming area. But as you all know, I’m Mr gotta have them all! So I’m well on my way. I currently have Combined army Morats and Onyx, YuJing Imperial and JSA, Ariadna USARF and Caledonian, Aleph vanilla and Steel Phalanx, Red Viel starter Haqqislam and finally Tohaa. I guess I had better get going and pick up some Pano and Nomads.

Totally not disappointed with this release. As a long time Elf player I am digging where they are going with the aesthetics of this new race. I am extremely happy that they did not do Fishmen and hopefully we can put that 20+ year rumor to rest!
