We will be getting together at Mindtaker on Saturday the 28th to play some games of Saga, Ancient Age. For those of you who are Saga-curious, we will even have loaner armies available! We should start arriving at 10:30 or so.
Come on out! Have some fun!

I would say that Grimdark Future is very much 'alternative 40k'. I would peg Xeno Rampant as 'whatever sci-fi models you want, come on in!'.
I hope to get a test game in later this week with my AT43 Therians vs Gates of Antares Freeborn.

My book arrived, and I am impressed. This covers everything from WW1 on, with or without magic and weirdness.
You looking to have a Bolt Action army fight some Space Marines? Covered.

Downloaded. Looks very heavy metal!

I have preordered the book, and planning to do some game days up at Dice Age in January-ish.

Christmas Slay 2
December 17th, 2022
This event will be held at Mindtaker Miniatures (https://www.mindtaker.org/event/saga-tournament/) 17030 SE 1st St Suite 106 Vancouver, WA 98684 on December 17th from Noon to 7pm. There is a $10 entrance fee payable to Mindtaker.
We will be using 7 point Age of Magic warbands, with legendary units and warbands allowed. We will be using the ‘half point’ optional rule from the FAQ. You will need to bring your fully painted warband, dice, order dice, and measuring sticks.
There will be one house rule in effect: all warbands generate an extra magic die, although Sorcerers still generate 1 each.
There will be prizes for first place and best painted warband, and depending on attendance, possibly more! Your $10 entrance fee also entitles you to pizza, delivered right to the store.

T-80's were historically never exported, but the WarPac allies are getting a book in a couple of months. They are getting T-72's with reactive armor, at least.

Looked like a fun tourney - hope everyone had fun. I dropped in with my son around 1:30 to see things finishing up on round #1. I thank you for putting up with gawkers.
I went home and finished working on my factions - got to do some basing then some priming - but the game looked fun and I think I have convinced my son to give it a go.

Nice! We are getting a bunch of stuff going for 2022. Viking Age will be once a month on Monday evenings at Dice Age, Age of Magic at Mox (day TBD), and age of crusades at my place starting January 29th.
It will be the year of Saga!

And I might be interested in the Dropfleet stuff!

Is there a tournament packet detailing the rules and the 3 scenarios?
If not, then aside from boards, dice, counters, rules, and minis, do I need to bring anything else, such as objective markers or baggage models?
Only painted warbands?
Is there a webpage?
There is no packet yet- just to confirm, its 5 fixed points (although you can pick equipment on deployment, as usual), age of vikings, 1 mercenary, no legendaries, OFNE is okay.
You do not need to bring baggage or objective markers.
Yes, must be painted.
No webpage- we hang out on a discord, if you would like an invite.

I’m tempted. It’ll give me some much needed practice for Adepticon. However, I live in Bellingham so it would be a 4+ hour drive, each way. 😞
What time does it start and end?
Oof, that's a vigorous drive!
Starts at Noon, done at 7.

I am planning to show up to check out the fun - I have not played SAGA but I have been working on a Norman and a Viking force to try and convince some family to play lol.

Awesome!
How about you @Koyote?

5 points is indeed to get through the games a little faster.
As for total turnout, I'm hoping for 8, and the venue is capped at 12. A nice, cozy little event.

Hello Saga maniacs!
The Turbo Chicken Gaming Society will be hosting a 1 day Saga Tournament "Christmas Slay" at Dice Age on December 18th.
Age of Vikings, 5 point armies, maximum 1 unit of mercenaries, no legendaries. There will be 3 games, going from noon to 7pm.
No Entrance Fee, although supporting our gracious hosts will be much appreciated.
We will be complying with all mask mandates in place from the government and Dice Age Staff.
December 18th: Be there, or...uhhh, be elsewhere, I guess.

Is this what you need?
It is! I've got a buddy with a 3d printer, thanks so much!
I will name that particular vehicle "Great Scott!" in your honor.

Howdy! Does anyone have the bits to make a M901? I have the M113 hull, just need the missile launcher bits.
Anyone got some laying around from making VADS?

Looks like we are getting a few folks together at Mox Portland for some 50 point 'learner' Team Yankee games on the 12th. We have soem folks showing up at 3, others at 6, so we have a wide time frame.
Plus they serve beer and food!

Yes, OC Geeks and Games is still gaming on Tuesdays. I believe this month is still finishing FOW D-Day, they will probably switch back to TY come August.
Good to know. Would folks be interested in playing some Team Yankee on August 3rd?
-
It took me 2 months, but I finished my accompanying infantry.
Are folks getting together on Tuesday evenings at Geeks and Games? They appear to have TY/FoW open gaming then.

I’m into that, we’re still a couple weeks out for everyone having their full armies right?
I'm ready to rock right now!
Were we going to meet at Ordo, or at various stores around the area?

I've printed ten tiles for @offroadfury and @Nick! (do you guys want to paint them or do you want me to?)
You can paint them- my stack is big enough as it is...

And here’s the tiles I put together for @Nick!’s wood elves.
The white “world tree” in the center represents the Elf Capital City.
North of that we have Silver Mines, a Tower, and Grasslands. The mines are a stock Hexton Hills tile, the tower is a mashup with a generic fantasy wizard tower and one of the forested hills, the grasslands takes a plain plains tile (pun intended) and adds a elvish obelisk in the middle to make it stand out.
South of the world tree, we have Kennels, Plains, and Barrens. The Kennels are me of the stock forest tiles mashed up with what was originally a fisherman’s hut on one of the rivers, I think it makes a nice small farm. Same trick of adding the elf obelisk (one ruined) to a couple of plains tiles for the other two.
Furtherest south, the Dark Forest, Hill Cave, and Moors. Only the forest is stock.
That is super rad, thank you!

By the way, they do- they have a little store to visit! I heartily recommend stopping by.
