Private message to Ish abot tonight's scheduled 10:30 game, for full FYI: Sir, Good news and bad news. Bad: 2900+ homes in Damascus and Boring just lost power. ETA is 1:00 am, but who freaking knows the reality. Good: Jenny is up and running and I have full and complete access. I will have to swap out the propane as the current one is nearly dry, but I have enough for a couple days running max. I am good to go! Caveat: I have a transfer panel, but there is a chance I may get a spike or comcast will go down or something outside my control, running a laptop, modem, router, etc. on a generator. Things look fine, though - kids are watching Lego Movie II on the XBox One for a Friday night treat and the internet appears stable. Let's do this! The alternative being that I can't play again until late Sunday or next Friday, with our hours. Fun stuff.

Stunty strikes again. Last play of the game...skink...two dodges, two GFI rolls...win. Yea, me, but a solid, good game. Of course, one of my one AGL Saurus lost an AGL point...and another was fired after losing a STR point...and another skink was killed outright...so let's call it an expensive win. Damn, this game can be harsh.. On the bright side, all of Creeping Deaths Guardians have Mighty Blow, now, so, yea good luck! Great game...

Actually, I've never heard of Bolt Action...

Math is hard. I work with people with advanced grad degrees in math and stats and code writers who easily get confused when presented with real life numbers and situations. "What are you even asking me? I majored in math, not arithmetic!" "The code is not flawed or broken. It is performing exactly as it was written." I love my job.

But at least one of us is a former New Yorker and HackMaster GameMaster who is more likely to provoke an inappropriate response the more time goes on. After all, on a long enough timeline and considering actual economic conditions, all character parties will evolve to Neutral Evil.

That's why I prefer Crom. Fewer rituals and holy days...

I still have a friend who claims he wants to play. I just swung by his desk and let him know the deadline. I figure 11 is better than 10 and 12 is much better. Lizards need more time to build those skills up... Everybody loves a Saurus with Block and Guard and Mighty Blow...

I couldn't imagine keeping track of all the modifiers playing BB analogue. I remember watching it at a Con in the early 90's and despite being interested, I couldn't pull the trigger. That I didn't paint minis until a decade later only out me off even more. On a drunken whim in the middle of the night I bought a discounted download from Amazon in the early 2010's and I was hooked. But I couldn't imagine playing this manually...

I hate steam.

The ironic thing being, of course, I spent most of my life deriding console gamers...until I got tired if managing Amazon Prime, Netflix, cable, network, Pandora, YouTube, twitch, Plex, et al...and bit the bullet and got an XBox One mostly as a media hub. But, the big question is whether I need Steam in order to play? I'd like to test before the new season begins. I was and still am looking to a local OR BB league.
