I’m also thinking that as a fun future project, for expanding this into really big games over 2,000 Points, a bunch of goblinized Dreadnought Drop Pods would be hilarious.
I am wondering why Orks would use drop pods. Pods would get in the way of punching stuff as they are thrown at the ground.

Messed around with the list to find a combo that makes sense for 50 PL and 25 PL mission to investigate a site of ruined craft on a planet surface.

Infiltrator Squad [5 PL, 120pts] - scouting the area for landing
Tactical Squad [4 PL, 105pts] Assisting the Librarian during his search.
Redemptor Dreadnought [7 PL, 180pts] Providing any heavy lifting needed to access areas under rubble
Rhino [3 PL, 78pts] transport to carry out anything of intereset.

Something I didn't notice at first: the Onslaught Gatling Cannon is labeled at heavy 8 instead of the current 6. Typo?

3x 3 multi-melta ATV
3x 5 Flamestorm Aggressors
3x 3 Eradicators
Vulkan he'stan
Chaplain on Bike
Should come out to 1995 pts.
EDIT: approximately 36 melta shots, 58 bolter shots, 366 flamer shots possible.

I can most likely join in. I don't want to do tabletop simiulator if it can be avoided.

Good thing I bought a box of ETB Aggressors and Redemptor recently. They are now out of print and sold out everywhere.

I will have to stop speculating until the official rules come out. Not good to get excited over leaks and rumors.

Apparently Multi-melta is changing to heavy 2. That explains the points difference.
edit: 3 devastator squads in drop pods with vulkan he'stan and an ancient for 30 multi-melta attacks rereolling everything...
edit2: supposedly the half range bonus will be changed to damage D6 with a minimum of 3 damage. That would be in line with newer rules for other anti-armor weapons.

fast attack is generally more valuable at the moment. This is due to points primarily coming from objectives rather than killing.

I knew the combo would be about 2k, but I didn't expect battlescribe to tell me it would be almost exactly 2k.

GW just had to model the Assault Intercessor sergeant options so you can't have a helmet, plasma pistol and chainsword without converting it. Unless I want an extra chainsword or helmet on my hip.
EDIT: I converted the plasma pistol to the left hand on 1 sergeant and cut the helmet off the hip on the other. This way they have slightly different poses.

I am not going to bother getting the Chapter Approved. I used the last one maybe 4 times.

photo of a book index shows Heavy Intercessors. I assume they will be gravis marines with heavy bolt rifles.
EDIT: now that I think about it... probably normal intercessors with heavy bolt rifles and possibly the option for other heavy weapons.

the summons could add a Challenge Point to the total for your army. The more you can summon the higher your total. The opponent gets extra CP for every difference in challenge points between armies, if I read it right.

are multi-meltas changed in the Chapter Approved? Trying to figure out why their points did not drop like las cannons did
