Painting Buildings

I make a lot of terrain. This tutorial helped me get my start and applies to 28mm as well as 15mm.

The biggest thing I can tell you is buy ceramcoat paints. Much cheaper than mini paints and work just as good for terrain. If you go much cheaper than the ceramcoat, the paint is too watery and crappy.

Man, what a great tutorial! Also, I couldn't agree more about the ceramcoat recommendation. There as a lot of cheaper acrylics out there, but the stuff like Apple Barrell always seems too thin and pigment-light.

Getting good at dry brushing (or maybe, more appropriately, damp brushing) with a 1 to 2 inch chip brush is important. Prime black, damp brush with successively lighter layers of grey until your happy, then pick out details with appropriate colors. A wash afterwards can help blend everything together.
