Purplepeopleeater
People who have bought Dell products are now on the scammer list. If you ever get a call from a company (Microsoft, Dell) saying your PC has a problem, write down their number, then hang up and call the main support line of that vendor. They will sound convincing with your service tag and express service code. DO NOT DO ANYTHING THEY SUGGEST. Several blogs out there about Dell Support Compromised.

tombking
Oh I think they got hosed years ago. I got a call from somewhere in India by the accent not long after I got my current machine and that was 2+ years ago. Asking if I wanted to extend the warranty or something. The online dell tech support was at least helpful in that they said no that I should not be getting that call.
dkieft
Pretty much if anyone ever cold calls you wanting to help/fix/sell anything computer related, tell them to go to hell. No Legit customer support will cold call you.
