Scorpions ar awesome.  Rending pistols, 4 attacks on the charge, STR 4 on 3 of them and of course they infiltrate/outflank as well as have 3+ saves and a CLAW that DOESNT go last!  wuuuuh.

That exarch goes on I6 and is a character butcher!

Thwe Hemlock is also awesome but it requires that you build the list around it.  So, maybe not as a random include except as a fun thing.  However, with outflankers, you can increase its value a lot.  So thus my suggestion on Illic.

I located two old school second edition Obliterators and bought three new Mutilators so I can stop proxying now.  Boons had to go even though I liked someof the stuff I was getting.  Itll be the first try with a landing pad.

You cannot assault from the Webway Portal.  So if you're going to bring in a nasty surprise on someone, make it NASTY.  Kabalite Trueborn pack a punch, can be soooo anti-tank and will be effective the round they appear. 

Grotesques (aberation with Scissorhands)?  YES PLEASE!  A unit of them with Urien and you're golden.  They just pound on things so hard and take a beating so well.  T5, 3 wounds, and they can get in a Raider the round they come on and assault afterwards whether the raider is killed or not. 

Just some thoughts.

Also, on the issue of Hemlocks and such, i did a blog on that.  I also tested the army pretty intensively.  it works.

Making Flyers work

First off long time no see for a lot of people on here, how's everyone doing? Ok so I've been away from 40k since the onset of 5th edition and curious if this list I made is viable for tournaments...

You get more tough troops, you get an outflanking Death flamer unit amongst them and you get a melee capable character that can help break the flamers of doom free of any nasty entanglements.  

The shard won't be as useful as the Wing on the Spiritseer.  I'd use it to get to a Wraithguard unit after it outflanks perhaps?  Just a thought.  Your list is intact and with more firepower and more deployment options.

Sadly true. I made custom ones before realizing they were actually flat. Still like using them but its kind of a hassle to move them when people walk on them during play.

There is no cover saves.  I beleive the actual text makes clear that you lay the 3 inch template flat.  These are I think, vortex grenade markers and theior height is just for show.

The cost is very comensurate with its abilities.  Acts like a Vindicator from Hades with legs and better armor.  Like:  a LOT better armor.

For 370 points, I SUPPOSE you can excuse the 6 Hull Points.  The Hull Points are silly on that thing.  Would make for an interesting game of keep away.

I need a CSR who can be licensed immediately.  Licensing is not easy and it's not for dumb people (It really isn't even for "moderately intelligent" folks).  It's 80 hours of online or classroom time they have to do on their own, that the state gives the tests for,  At the end of that road lies a fairly nice career though with a lot of opportunity and a whole LOT of job security.  Bonus's are nice and they go up every year.

Has to be someone comfortable with marketing and especially meeting with clients.  Professionalism needs to be really good.  Problem solving skills are HUGE and the work comes atcha fast, so they gotta be REAL organized and conscious of their time management all the time.  What looked like a pile of work that was almost done turns into two new piles and fast.  Just because we have no time doesn't mean I don't need it done.  =)

It's off the subject but since the original poster is asking I spose its cool.

As an insurance agent my first exhortation is to make sure he makes a claim with insurance and make sure that you GET insurance, Renters insurance specifically with as low a deductible as possible, to cover such things.  

Renters pollcies are just such a no brainer for gamers.  I highly recommend them.  Feel free to hit me up with a PM if you want one in Oregon or Washington!  

They often do not pay for the painting service side of it but frankly given the cost of the hobby, I am certain most gamers will take the brand new models over the nothing that is the alternative.

Look in dumpsters and such around the immediate area.

My intention is to attend.  I can provide a lot of terrain, boards, tables, whatever if I make it.  In fairness my staffing issues are ever present and so I will not know as a certainty whether I can make it or not for a bit.

Dataslates are banned at tournies?  interesting.  Hadn't come up much.  Escalation and Stronghold, lotsof talk on those but the Dataslates are another thing altogether and its just hard to keep up!

Here's a Daemonforge style list that I was floating to people for opinions:

Everything that CAN has Daemon rule on it which was kinda the theme. Daemon forge lists seemed like a fun concept.  The models involved here are NICE.

My friend uses the fortress. He has three psykers casting prescience on two units of 5 plasma cannons, and a unit o 5 missiles....sticks a Storm behind it w the objectives he hides behind the fortress and just chucks dice and Nhal wondstorms atcha. Risky as hell to DS Around a storm. Fun? Better pray you have some nice 48" str 9 guns, ot lances!

I think that separating the Paint and sports score from battle points is usually popular with us.  We've had situations where a guy lost two out of three and won best overall.  He's a swell guy and all but that was ridiculous.  So scoring is usually a hot topic around O-town.

other than that, i like to go to tournies that are aiming to make it accessible to the newest player, which means yeah, saying no to some of the shenanigans.  TO's hate to be the "bad guy" by barring some things but if it encourages newer players to compete, I'm all for it.

bring em all.  Should be a good time.  Gabi's usually puts on a good tournament.

The math says you'll be down to two by the time they charge in some cases.  Once they kill their target, they will be shot again, but again, its hard to kill them so you're conceding that theenemy can kill two total before IT hits its second target.  At two strong, you will likely NOT hit a second target.  TWO targets per unit is 10 targets.  THAT'S a lot of pain.

So I'm measuring it in potential number of total targets they can attack/kill in a game.  If i wipe a Fire Warrior Squad and a Hammerhead per unit, that's almost the entire Tau scoring corps.  Once thats done, winning is a matter of secondary objectives (assuming you dont wipe them utterly).  I'd rather the enemy EARNED that first blood since my scoring units are in mortal danger the entire game.

AND...  THEY ARE your scoring  units, dont forget about that.  They need to be just a little more prtected.  That third paladin tips the unit from DANGEROUS mode to an actual LOAD of trouble.

Its a real delicate balance but those would be my thoughts,.
