  1. Basic Outline, modified from the original 8e incarnation because of blast weapons:

2 Canoness (free miracle die and for the Save Buff, re-roll 1's is a given), Palatine re-roll of wounds, Celestine for the 4+ invul buff, Missionary attack buff.

10 Arco Flagellents:  because forcing 46.5 saves at -1 AP against T4 is in fact good against every single thing.  Transhumans will still take 35 at -1.  Still epic.  That they are two wounds with FnP is also pretty boss.  Glassy but effective.

5 units of 10 Sisters of Battle, all with 3 Meltas in each squad.  15 meltas in all.  Obsec.  8 Bolters per unit, 5 units means a lot of overall dakka to throw as long as Sacred Rites and character buffs hold.  ULTRA tough with the Valorous Heart buffs.  Free Simulacrum Imperialis for the win!  Stratagem will allow them to fall back and shoot so you can shove them forward and let happen what may.

2 Exorcists:  Range and distraction.  It is extremely helpful to have reach on your opponent and it makes the opponent nervous until they are gone.  There are very large scary things in this world that must be taken down to size early, or else bad things happen.

Multimelta Retributors:  hard to beat the firepower.  Well, it's actually impossible.  Throwing 12  +1 dmg 36" range multimelta shots turn 1 is kinda silly and an excellent deterrent.

Imagifier:  because ignoring up to -2 AP is suh good.

Seraphim with Fusion pistols:  Gotta be able to get to the backfield for Scramblers.  Also great for hunting.

Dominion:  Speed Bump deploy shenanigans to stop units from otherwise overrunning you too quickly.  Form them up in a wide bubble and force the enemy to move around or through them round 1.

    So Sisters vs DE?

DE requires that you screen them out. They tend to have a ton of transports so you have to somehow pop those, and then get the guys inside otherwise they are just leaping off platforms right into you. They wont mind sacrificing 10 wyches to kill your repentia, its a fantastic trade for them or they could have Wracks with Liquifiers to blunt your charge.

There are a LOT of variation to the DE tool box

Dominion are good and affordable speed bumps.  thinking of adding one unit to put RIGHT AT at the enemy movement rate to slow them down.

Plasmancer is pretty good but I have found the Royal Warden to be kind of amazing

I was bummed that he couldnt take the Mephrit warlord trait.  I used him wrong in my first game cause i didn't realize his weapon wouldnt work with it.

  4. I played with an army made up of just the Necrons, as many of them as i could fit.  It did pretty good.  Plasmamancer guys are the bomb (kind of literally).  i need one more of those.  3 seems pretty decent.

With all the new stuff, it seems almost like I'll be forced to do two detachments JUST to fit the multiple characters in there.  Lot of characters for Necrons that are worth taking multiples of now.

The week before I decided, “Yup. Gonna do it. Gonna collect a Custodes army!” there where four boxes of Sisters of Silence on the “clearance rack” at Guardian Games and all my favorite online retailers had them in stock.

Two weeks later? Sold out everywhere.

    D’oh.

We have a Sisters of Silence player here locally.  He's been scoing 22-25 points in every game but not winning much.  Maybe it will be better in 9E.  Iay.  it's worth noting that his denies people from scoring quite a bit with it as well and opponent scores arent all that high either.

Yea. I am betting they are folding them into rule books but it makes sense due to not every faction getting a book

Sure but why do this ahead of that?  Not a necessary step.  As it is, or so it appears, this is for GT's only so..  i mean...  i dunno.  Seems an extraneous move

Oh.... i was running 2 Battalions and a Brigade. 1 Battalion was Bad Moons for the Lootas, the other was Goffs for the Skarboyz and the Brigade was Deffskulls with the Shokk Attack Gun and Smasha Gunz and Traktor Kannons.

yeah that works well.  Had a guy run maximum Smasha guns against my Sisters once.  I did table that guy but those smasha guns were such a scary weapon against sisters.  I could see after that game why people liked them.  Had to really play coy against that dude.  I guess smashaguns kind of replaced lootaz in a lot of lists after the lootaz lost their ability to do maximum cheddar.  Their proverbial moment in the sun.

GT rules seem like a lot of fluffy stuff will recede for a bit.  The Vigilus rules really gave life to some out of favor factions.  VERY surprised they are making that move.

Hahaha I loved my Lotto Gun... 2d6 Strength, 2d6 Attacks vs D6 ap -5 and d6 damage.... along with the double shoot strat...it was wonderful for Deffskulls (my Kultur which I have been with since ce I started collecting orks)

Yeah I kept meaning to get around to adding one but I just never seemed to need it badly enough for what i would have to give up.  But a ton of my lists are super fundamental type lists.  Like the orks I have are 60 Gretchen, 90 boyz, 6 Traktor kannons, 13 Lootaz, a Trukk and the various characters (3 wizards, two warbosses, and a KFF).  176 models, add gear.  Green Tide Forevah!!!

I started collecting Sisters during second edition, they only got a codex a few months before third edition released and completely invalidated everything from second due to a ground-up rewrite of the system. It took something like seven years until Codex: Witchhunters came out during all that time the Sisters were stuck with the appendix of the main rulebook for an army list. It was rough.

Yes I recall.  they could basically just be taken as like a unit.  Witchhunters was actually my favorite and by far the longest lasting iteration of Sisters.  I hate that they separated them like they did in the lore.  Be that as it may, they are one of my two favorite factions to play.

One of my biggest regrets in my gaming life has been selling off my Sisters of Battle army.  One day, I keep telling myself, I’ll start collecting them again... But every time I try, I just get sad.

Sisters of Battle players, in my experience, are held in the same regard as Ork players by the rest of the player base: everyone loves ‘em. The army is generally middle-of-the-pack in terms of raw power, and over the years has had many a long spell of being bottom-of-the-pile... So anyone who sticks with them usually does so out of genuine love of the faction and not “power gaming.” So in the rare instances where a powerful combo is unlocked, the fanbase is usually happy for the players and not mad at them.

Yeah.  i cant think of too many power combos per se, but i have learned to use them adeptly, and competed at a very high level despite their...  shortcomings.  I have never felt they were as low tiered as most people did.  But I suppose when you play anything enough times, you simply learn to work around that stuff and maybe the skill part overcomes some of the inherent challenges.  Its why I didnt play with Crisis Suits since basically 4th edition.  They were low tier until 6th, and winning with Crisis teams had been and still is pretty rough.  There are too many other ways to play that are more reliable and that too is sad.  Oh poor Crisis teams, we knew you well.

Someone told me that i am a Sisters player that plays Tau.  I had always thought of myself as a Tau Empire player.  I was told by some that i was dead wrong.  It was a weird moment for me.  Lol.

We lost our scariest unit in 9th Ed Match Play. Da Souped-up Shokka is no longer accessible since Specialist Detachments are no longer allowed via the Grand Tournament pack.

Not only that but the unit got a 50% points increase....nerf bat + nerf hammer equals pain squared

    Thats some high speed Calculus-Hammer.

I never once used the Shokk attack gun for my list, and so I dont think its that big of a loss.  It was cool, but it surely wasn't mandatory, or so I felt.  Now Night Lords...  Oofta.  they got nerfed into oblivion by that.  So i guess in GT's specifically, its just not gonna' be a thing.  =(  I am super sad becuase i was having real fun playing them recently on Tabletop Simulator and I own all the models for that list for sure.

Sisters are still an army I am interested in.

I am thinking of doing Orks, Necrons, and Sisters. No Chaos faction interests me...

I am a Sisters of Battle playa as you know, and I endorse this plan.  I have been playing them since around 2006, and they are fantastic looking models.  The new ones have in no way disappointed either, if you wanted to go that way.  Codex doesn't suck either, and i think that's as much as any Sisters player can ask after all these years.  I feel like orks now:  you dont have to fear us but you have to respect us.  Of course, maybe 9E will make people not respect orks again which would be sad.

It says that you can declare attacks against a unit that you charged, or "that performed a Heroic Intervention this turn."

So if you charge a unit, and someone performs a Heroic Intervention, you can attack them as well as the unit you charged.

Interestingly, due to that wording, you can attack any unit that performed a Heroic Intervention, not just one that heroically intervened against you.

For instance, if you had 2 units charge 1 squad, and then a 3rd nearby friendly squad didn't charge, but happened to be in Heroic Intervention range of an enemy character and he pounced. If one of your charging squads kills the enemy unit, the second squad can pile-in and, if they can make engagement range, attack that enemy character before he swings.

but I didn't say you couldnt?  But you are right.

Clearly, it's function is to represent season 2 of Discovery, which means Necrons are Human Time Cops?

    Terrible show.

I think its a killer model but...  Man.  Transporting that looks like a horror.

Well... You're not wrong. Fire Dragons are trash compared to Eradicators. I was trying to explain my outlook to my wife... Any time marines get something that is far and away better than the chaos or xenos equivalent, it won't hurt to be mad about. I accept that GW loves marines more than their other children, by a lot. It's not even close. Marines have their own tab on the GW site, separate from the Imperium section. They are the chosen ones, and will *always* have better stuff. When other things rise above them in the meta, GW "fixes" it.

I'm not being sarcastic. I just accept it. I bought elves because I like elves. They will never be as good as muhreenz. That's ok. I'll play them too.

eldar have lived a very long time in the sun.  Lol.
