  1. If you feel like giving up a weekend to hang out with a bunch of gamer geeks, running a beer caddie role might be fun for you.  Meet new people, watch games and learn, and hang out with like 99 guys and 1 female. (Maybe 2 if we are lucky). As Intrinzic put it, its all about the relationships and friends.  The games are just a fun part to the weekend. Friday night / Saturday night are always good fun with more time to re-connect / make new friends.  There are games (board and tabletop), movies, hanging out and talking, the list goes on.

  2. I would put some troops in a transport. It holds true to your theme of tanks, but gives you a chance to win.  Tabling your opponent will be your only chance to win with your current list, and you will be paired against people to give you the closest game possible, which makes your chances of winning very low, and makes it hard to pair you up with someone.

  3. 4 points.

2 for 2 tyrants. 8 wounds = 1. C-1 means 1 point since you have one beyond the first.

The first tyrant would be 1 for being a Tyrant. Since the other costs are cumulative, he's only 1 point. C-1 means the first doesn't cost, but after the first you add a point (cumulatively).

The second tyrant brings you over 4 wounds, +1 for being a FMC, +1 for the cumulative cost.

Adding a Harpy/Crone would add +1 for 5 wounds (the total now being 13), and +2 as it's the third FMC. So then you'd be at your 7 points.

The document has changed since I wrote that comment.

    3.  Assault question:  I infiltrated a full unit of genestealers and a broodlord 18" away from units in plain sight.  Their deployment allowed this, much to their horror.  So on turn 1 I moved 6", then ran in the shooting phase for an additional 6" (dice gods smiled upon me) and then assaulted 2d6" and made it.  Did we do that right?

It also depends if you had the top or the bottom of turn 1.  The player that gets the top of turn 1 cannot assault. The player that gets the bottom of turn 1 may assault.

  5. I know... but once they gain the 3" proximity and have, effectively, a 4++ to re-spawn, infinitely can't they just sit there and then nothing can move them off?

Note: I am not arguing rules. I'm just trying to learn them :)

The gargs go back into ongoing reserve, so they wont come back for a turn.  So the whole unit needs to die and then come back.  Either via board edge or deepstriking.

  6. If you assume a list something like:

    Flyrant w/ TL Devs

    Flyrant w/ TL Devs

    venomthrope
    3 warriors w/ barbed strangler

    3 warriors w/ barbed strangler

    Crone
    Crone
    dataslate: skyblight swarm

That comes out to 8 FMCs and 5 scoring units.  3 scoring units which can deepstrike and hold objectives no matter what, plus if you kill them there is a 50% chance they will come back next turn and 2 synapse units to hold back objectives and help cast that all important synapse web.

I like the warriors for back up synapse just in case my 3 tyrants die an untimely death.  Though I am toying with the idea of using genestealers in the backfield with an ADL to help give them cover and they can go to ground...

I am not saying this is a friendly list by any means, heck I would almost call it straight Dbag. But this is what I expect to see soon.
