  1. well if you play under ITC< space wolves have chapter tactics, effectively, as do the other books. which eliminates the CT of the main book guys. which stops superfriends really. try playing under ITC for your friendly games?

as for how to deal with it with orkz? well, okay. Either your own superfriends deathstar (maybe), tank shocking with trucks. it can force the unit to move back/away, and might break it and push it back for a turn or so. use some forgeworld and grab a big mek stompa and give him the dirty D. as for base book, a big ass squad of kila kanz. here's why I say this. they will probably take a while to kill. ONLY the characters will really be hurting them, the kraks might, but if even one KK is left, it holds the entie turn. also, tie up smashbuddy with a nob, and have a warboss or two (they are cheap enough) gut the unit with their str 10 PKs.

  2. Hmmmmm Ideas...

How many of you feel the deathwatch squad is worth buying for a regular army? say the libby and the squad as an allied detatchment? I mean. that frag cannon is amazing. and they are ALL characters. which can make for some weird shenanigans

  3. Well, deathwatch are a faction. sadly. and only have ONE troops choice, and it's unique. so you can only take them either as their formation or as an allied detachment.  I'm actually starting to think about taking an entire DW army to OFCC, supplamented with inq and pedro-style sternguard as more DW. my boyfriend jeff is going to bring his old genestealer cult guard, using the new rules, and some of the new models and we're making a bad-ass display board for the both of us. should be rad

  4. So still unsure why youre having issues with the book. You can still take all the things you want to take. Yes the core formation is a little taxing but you can still work it to be playable. Ive ran the formation a couple times and my difficulty is having enough thump to make the benefits worth while. I dont want to rely 100% on ghaz and his council but you dont get much freedom in the building your list which saddens me they had a real opportunity to take everything and make multiple clans amd how each style of.ork army plays

i'll have to substantially change my list. it was very fine-tuned. also, losing ob-sec sucks. i'm gonna have to redo it. I'll repost it once i get it done.

  5. Yeah I'm seeing that. Great. SO in addition to the book being a reprint, very little in it being usable in anything past garagehammer, they took away the Waaagh Ghaz cad. good job GW.

also, they probably think they did a good thing.... and this'll be their excuse not to print a new book for a few more years.

I'll have to redo my list and repost it in a new thread.

  6. Nah, I doubt people will care. 30k pays a LOT more for their basic stuff than 40k does. and their marines dont have ATSKNF. which is huge. I think you'll be fine. Ferrus, Horus, Vulkan... those guys are kinda raunchy and people might not like 'em. example, boltguns cant hurt ferrus.

  7. OKay, so i think I CAN take a Waaagh!! Ghaz CAD. Here's what it says....

"This book contains special rules, Warlord Traits, relics, a Detachment and Formations, Alter of War missions and Tactical Objectives (on the final page) that reflect the fighting style of Waaagh! Ghazgkhull. You can ad the Detatchmet and Formations from this section to an existing army, or use them to field an army from Waaagh! Ghazghkull itself."

Emphasis mine, but that's why I think you can take a CAD.  Am I interpreting this right?

  8. On the topic at hand. GW has a nasty habit of using terminology like "at full strength" without having a standardized meaning for what "at full strength" means. You can argue for almost any interpretation of what "at full strength" means, as long as you can logic it out, since it is not defined. So what we're picking at here, has no definitive answer other than our argued interpretations. Hence what ITC was trying to do. Come up with a definition that a majority of those that voted agreed upon. Which was done. As stated earlier, I'm sure if you present the ITC guys with a really well-written, well-worded, intelligent example of why the ruling come to would be harmful to the game, they'll listen. Something about ITC that you have to remember, is that they are not only interpreting rules, but CHANGING them in order to attempt to fix what is an inherently broken system that we all have come to love. It is a monumental task, and a thankless one. They will NOT please everyone, and they WILL make people angry. They changed ranged D. They nerfed invisibility. They changed how malestrom works. These were not rules interpretations, but rules addendums, or in some cases, outright changes. Just my two cents on how to look at the ITC changes without getting too caught up in the syntax and verbiage.

Oh, and AP? Saying it in Latin doesn't make how you said that less douchy, just more pretentious. Give the guy a break.

  9. Primarch's are pretty over the top in general. but 30k pays a lot more for all their stuff. so i'm not sure honestly. It's their MC statline and defenses along with their ability to hide in units that makes primarch's really good, IMO.

  10. The goal has never been "bring what you want", the goal has always been for close games.

Exactly. The POINT of the team system is to have four armies on each team, that are approximately equal in power level to the other team's armies. That way you can set up cool, thematic, close and engaging games for your team.

  11. Write an article about all the bad rulings and try and get enough support to put it up for a vote again.

Nah. That would be effective, adult and reasonable. This is the internet sir. This is the place we uselessly b!tch and throw our opinions around like hand grenades.

    Silly Fluger.
